Den heliga dalen blev ett område av kungliga fastigheter och lanthem för Inca , för den religiösa upprättelsen och även jordbruk. En av detta var majsen, en prestigeväxa för inkorna, att göra chicha, en fermenterad majs, dricka inkorna och deras ämnen konsumeras vid deras många ceremoniella fest och religiösa festivaler. På den här helgedagens hela dagen besöker du imponerande byggnader av städer som Pisac och Ollantaytambo , som fortfarande arbetar med sina vatten fontäner som kommer från bergen. Den heliga dalen tour tar dig runt lokala byar och träffar lokalbefolkningen med sina traditionella kostymer att det kommer att lägga till en oförglömlig upplevelse på din resa.

8.30 hämtar vi dig från ditt hotell och tar dig till början av turnén. Vi reser från Cusco, förbi Saqsaywaman över bergen mot den heliga dalen. Vi går ner 500 meter till dalbotten, där vi befinner oss vid den heliga Urubamba-floden och byn Pisac. I Pisac stannar vi för att besöka en traditionell marknad, där du kan surfa och köpa några lokala souvenirer om så önskas. Vi kommer att spendera cirka 30 minuter här. Sedan kör vi upp till ruinerna av Pisac. Här utforskar vi de omfattande ruinerna medan vi njuter av fantastisk utsikt över dalen. Du får en guidad rundtur i Citadellet i Pisac, där vi kommer att se tempel, hem, altare, sniderier, tunnlar, grottor och den berömda Intihuatana, "Solens hitching post". Vi har cirka 90 minuter på oss att utforska ruinerna. För dem som föredrar att tillbringa mer tid på marknaden istället för att besöka ruinerna, råda din guide så att han kan ordna en tid och plats att hämta dig när han återvänder genom marknaden.
Vi fortsätter mot Urubamba, där vi gör ett stopp (45 minuter) för lunch (ingår ej).
En 30 minuters bilresa tar oss till Ollantaytambo, som är omgiven av de heliga bergen. Här kommer vi att spendera ungefär en timme. I Ollantaytambo får vi ytterligare exponering för Incan-konstruktioner, främst det fantastiska soltemplet, enorma stenblock perfekt snidade och polerade, stenvatten fontäner, trappor och terrasser. Vi får också se lokalbefolkningens skönhet i deras traditionella klädsel omgiven av de heliga bergen och Patacancha och Willoq-dalen.
När vi kommer tillbaka besöker vi den berömda kyrkan och den arkeologiska platsen i Chincheros. Vi återvänder till Cusco klockan 18:30 - 19:00.

We booked with Valencia tour company which was recommended by my cousin. We had Mariela for our tour guide and Speedy and Eddy for our drivers over 4 days. It was a wonderful experience for my family. Mariela was very attentive to all our requests. Her restaurant recommendations were brilliant. She is very knowledgeable and she helped me on the hikes by holding my hands and encouraged me to continue. I may not have completed the hikes without her support. We would highly recommend Valencia Tours and specifically Mariela She is a very knowledgeable Spanish and English language guide, who taught us a lot about the Inca culture and indigenous plants.

We have just completed a 12 day tour of Peru with Rolly Carrasco. Rolly showed us the highlights through his love and passion for his country and its history. This tour of the sacred valley far exceeded my expectations. First of all, I wasn’t expecting for it to be a private tour, so that was a pleasant surprise. Our guide, Edward was an excellent communicator and I appreciated that he reached out to inform me he’d be a few minutes late due to traffic. It’s a small detail but it just shows the commitment to clear communication. The tours of the sites were fantastic, with Edward providing great info but also being open to questions. He was very proactive about keeping the activities accessible to my mobility-restricted mother. We loved the visit to the textiles store, where we learned so much about how local textiles are made. Our driver, Edwin, was a fantastic driver…he kept moving to get us to places quickly, but did it in a manner in which we felt safe, including driving through switchbacks. The process of booking was also perfect, with actual humans answering the phone and directing you to a specialized person providing what I thought was a very reasonable price, considering how last minute we booked. I was genuinely impressed with the professionalized operation of Valencia Travel and plan to use them again when visiting Cusco.
