Anabelle was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and lots of fun. Would have preferred a different winery to tour as the winery guide was so quiet it was hard to follow. Still worth the 5 stars as we truly enjoyed the experience.

An excellent way to start the morning by discovering Porto. Carlos is an excellent guide and has been explaining everything to us patiently. Unfortunately, the rest of the tourists who were in the group with us, were not the most friendly Canadians (4 pax) and were not very happy with the guide explaining everything in Portuguese besides French. However, the guide did not stop explaining anything to us and we did not feel that the tour was damaged at all. We highly recommend for those who love culture and history. The first part is done on foot and being Porto a city with some inclination, requires some physical preparation, but nothing with much effort. The second part is made in a cart so that you can visit the most distant points in less time. We end with an excellent visit and wine tasting at Real Companhia Velha and the boat ride on the river Douro, with spectacular views of Ribeira do Porto, Gaia and the 6 bridges. The tour lasts about 4h30 + 50 minutes for the boat ride, no extra is paid.

The streets were narrow and Cátia gave class at the wheel. He knows the way well and does not let the bus swing very safe at the wheel and polite!!!!!

We paid for a half day tour which included a boat cruise under 6 bridges on the Douro River. This tour was a 5 hr tour. Everything was going well until our tour guide Carlos stopped at a pastry shop to allow people to buy a bite to eat. My husband came out with pastries and tour guide was gone. Two other people were looking for him as well. We walked around for 10 minutes looking for him in a busy area of Porto. My husband suggested we go back to ticket office. The 4 of us did so… they contacted him and then took us to meet a bus that the group was on. Basically he left without knowing if his group was all there. We ended that part of the tour and were expecting to be taken to the riverfront and board tour boat. Instead we were handed a voucher for 2 people and told to walk down to riverfront to a vendor and present voucher for boat ride. We did this .. walking 15-20 minutes. When we presented voucher we were told the next available boat was in an hour and 20 minutes. Unbelievable… as we didn’t expect this and thought we would get on a boat within half an hour. Boat ride is 50 minutes. This meant we wouldn’t get back until 3:20 — the tour started at 9am. We were very disappointed with this tour. It’s not detailed well in the description on line. It doesn’t say anything about a tour on the land and then getting a boat voucher and getting yourself to the boat! Our tour guide Carlos should be aware if people missing in his group. My husband walked beside him at length. He had to know we weren’t with him. Unacceptable when you pay $$$

I really enjoyed this tour! Our guide was great. She was awesome! We were a little late getting to the check-in location, so we had to catch up to the group. Our guide was willing to go over information she had already discussed with the group so that we knew what she was discussing. That was very nice of her. We enjoyed the wine tasting as well. The 6 Bridges tour was ok. I would highly recommend that the tour operator for the cruise incorporate some audio. It would have been nice to know the history behind the bridges and to also understand what we were looking at. Also, they dropped us off at another dock on the other side of the river. It would’ve been nice to know that ahead of time. We were planning to go back to a few locations we missed before the river cruise.

Beautiful city, lots of culture, good food, affordable food, delicious port tasting, walking is up and down, stairs down, good public transport, definitely recommended

While the tour guide was very nice & knowledgable, this tour was not very fun. We saw a few sights from the bus & then went port tasting. That part of the tour was run by the vineyard & frankly was terrible. That guide clearly wanted to be anywhere but there. We were then given vouchers for a boat tour and told to walk down to the river & catch a boat at our leisure. We thought the tour included the boat ride & spent a lot of time walking from vendor to vendor & missing the boats by minutes. We have done a lot of excursions over the years and this is the first one I panned. Big time !
