Självständighetsmonumentet i Phnom Penh, huvudstad i Kambodja, byggdes 1958 för att minnas Kambodjas oberoende från Frankrike 1953. Det står på korsningen mellan Norodom Boulevard och Sihanouk Boulevard i centrum av staden.
Kungliga palatset, i Phnom Penh, Kambodja, är ett komplex av byggnader som fungerar som kungliga kungodiken. Dess fulla namn på Khmer-språket är Preah Barum Reachea Veang Chaktomuk Serei Mongkol.
Wat Phnom är ett buddhistiskt tempel som ligger i Phnom Penh, Kambodja. Det byggdes 1372 och står 27 meter över marken. Det är den högsta religiösa strukturen i staden. Pagoden fick namnet Wat Preah Chedey Borapaut. Wat Phnom är Phnom Penhs centrala punkt.
Silverpagoden ligger på södra sidan av Kungliga palatset, Phnom Penh. Det officiella namnet är Wat Ubaosoth Ratanaram som kallas Wat Preah Keo Morakot som vanligtvis förkortas till Wat Preah Keo i Khmer. Viharaen innehåller många nationella skatter inklusive många guld- och juvelerade Buddhastatyer.
Centralmarknaden är en stor marknad som byggdes 1937 i form av en kupol med fyra armar som grenar ut i stora korridorer med otaliga varuhus. Ursprungligen designad av Jean Desbois. Byggnadsarbeten övervakades av den franska arkitekten Louis Chauchon och ingenjören Wladimir Kandaouroff.
Killing Fields är ett antal platser i Kambodja där mer än en miljon människor dödades och begravdes av den röda khmerregimen under dess styre över landet 1975 till 1979, omedelbart efter slutet av det kambodjanska inbördeskriget.
Tuol Sleng-folkmordsmuseet är ett museum i Phnom Penh, huvudstaden i Kambodja, som berättar om det kambodjanska folkmordet. Webbplatsen är en tidigare gymnasium som användes som säkerhetsfängelse 21 av Khmer Rouge-regimen från dess uppgång till makten 1975 till dess nedgång 1979.

I had a great time on the Half-Day Phnom Penh City Tour and would absolutely recommend it. My tour guide, Kakada, was fantastic. His English was excellent, he had a great sense of humor, and he was genuinely friendly and easy to talk to. He made the tour both informative and enjoyable, and did a great job explaining Cambodia’s culture as well as its complicated and emotional history. The driver was also great, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. The only constructive feedback I’d share is about the tour information itself, and this isn’t a reflection on my guide at all. It wasn’t totally clear in the description that you’re supposed to choose between a cultural-themed tour or a genocide-themed tour, since the itinerary seems to list all sites together but in other places it says you need to choose between the two option. That said, Kakada was very flexible and let me choose a mix of both, and I was able to pick four attractions, which worked out perfectly. There was also a small pickup confusion. The Viator listing said there were only two pickup points, so I took a Grab to one of the hotels, but later found out hotel pickup and drop-off was actually possible. Again, not a big deal, and more of a clarity issue on the tour company’s side than anything else. Overall, this was a really informative and enjoyable tour. Kakada and the driver did an excellent job showing me Phnom Penh, its culture, and its history. Highly recommended!
