This tour was memorable and informative! Sarah was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastically and thoughtfully answered all of our questions.
Noah was a great guide. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Everyone seemed to enjoy the tour.
Our "Making Their Mark" tour was informative and enjoyable. Sarah was our guide, and she brought the neighborhood's past to life for us, even though it was our first visit to Montreal and we had no prior knowledge of the area to build on. We have done a lot of tours in a lot of cities, some of which could make spectacular sites seem tedious. This was the opposite, turning mundane facades into multilayered windows onto more than a century of Jewish life. Thanks, Sarah--we will not forget our visit!
Sarah is a terrific and energetic guide with detailed history of Jewish history in Montreal. She made sure to make stops where the group could sit and absorb Sarah’s descriptions of the Montreal's Jewish population. The last stop was sad bc it pinpointed how history may some day forget about the Jewish effect on this city.
My husband and I had a wonderful experience with our Jewish walking tour of Montreal's plateau neighborhood. Our tour guide, Sarah, expertly guided us through residential, religious, and commercial buildings of importance while telling the story of Montreal's Jewish population through the present. Highly recommend to any history/architecture nerds, Jewish genealogy seekers, and the like. Just wish we had booked the tour on a day the Jewish museum was open too!
Sarah was a fantastic guide- so knowledgeable and articulate! We forgot to carry cash so did not have the opportunity to tip her-- and she truly deserved a tip!!
We had an excellent (6 star?) experience on this tour. Our tour guide (Noah...a total mensch) was as informative and kind as could be. His encyclopedic knowledge of the history of Jewish Montreal was a genuine highlight of our trip. The trip would have been a value at double the price.
Our guide Noah provided a fun an informative tour of Jewish Montreal. He was knowledgeable and passionate and a wonderful guide. I’d highly recommend this tour if you’re interested in Jewish history.
An enjoyable and informative walk with Noah. It gave a great sense of a bygone era of Jewish Montreal.
A really fascinating walk to learn about the third largest group in Montreal in the early 20th century (after French Catholics and English Protestants). The guide was incredibly knowledgeable, answering our endless questions. In many cases she was able to point out (or encourage us to find) the subtle clues that point to Jewish history in repurposed buildings. She clearly loves the material and her city!
