Kombinationen av det exotiska kinesiska paviljongen, palatset och den magnifika palatset gör besök på Drottningholm en unik upplevelse. Påverkade av fransk prototyp byggdes palatset av arkitekten Nicodemus Tessin den äldste på uppdraget av Drottning Hedvig Eleonora. Ett antal kungliga personligheter har sedan dess lämnat sitt märke på palatset. Slottet är deras majestät, kungen och drottningens fasta bostad. Rummen i palats södra vinge är reserverade för detta ändamål. Resten av slottet och grunderna är öppna för allmänheten året runt.

Drottningholms slott ligger på UNESCOs världsarvslista. Det är det mest välbevarade kungliga slottet som byggdes på 1600-talet i Sverige och är samtidigt representativt för hela den europeiska arkitekturen för perioden.
Inuti paviljongen står kinesiska inspirerade svenska Rococo möbler bredvid importerade kinesiska föremål. Flera av rummen har fortfarande sina ursprungliga kinesiska siden och pappersväggar. Det finns också lackerade skärmar, glasmålning, porslin och andra dekorativa föremål, varav många antagligen importerades av det svenska östra indiska företaget. Några av de kinesiska föremålen är här ännu äldre, inklusive stycken från tiderna av Drottning Hedvig Eleonora och Drottning Kristina, när porslin var oerhört dyrt.

The castle is beautiful, the history very interesting. Agnes has been a guide for 30 years and is extremely knowledgeable so made the tour very special. We also learned so much about Sweden and how the society/government functions. Also fascinating. Our driver was excellent and the entire experience will be one we remember forever. So fortunate we were able to do this tour. We wanted to tour in the morning but the afternoon worked for the company and it turned out to be great as there were very few people there. I was surprised, it felt like we had the whole castle to ourselves. Thank you so much!

Zero stars not an option. Ten minutes early at hotel pickup point,waited 15 minutes, no show. Call tour operator Guide Father no answer. Called Viator support, they could not contact them also. This was a private tour. Pricey, left a four hour gap in our plans and in a foul mood. Really wanted to see this palace, and will not. Do not recommend this tour. Book at your own risk

The drive out to Drottningholm took about 25 minutes, and along the way our guide pointed out different neighborhoods, telling us bits of Swedish history that we never would have learned on our own. The approach to the palace itself was absolutely breathtaking the symmetry of the gardens and the way the building sits by the water made for a stunning first impression.
This business has charged us for a tour we did not take. We have tried numerous times to work with Viator and this comapny without any success and have had to go to our bank to keep our money from being stolen. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.

You asked to change pick up time to earlier less then 24 hours. We offered you 12:00 noon earliest but this time slot didn't fit your new itinerary also. We are really sorry but the very last cancellation during high season is not possible. We kindly asking to appreciate our business and policy of Tripadvisor.

The place is beautiful and eorth seeing, This was an expensive way of visiting it. The tour was less than 3 hours including the commute. Be aware the entrance tickets are not included. The tour guide recommended we take the tour to the theather (recommended). We also had to pay for it. The explanation of the tour guide of the main palace was rushed and short because we had the test get your scheduled.
