Fjärrstyrda robotjockeys i småbarnsstorlek, klädda i färgglada racingsilkes, glädjer lokalbefolkningen och turister när de rider på gängliga däggdjur över sandbanan. Tävlande kameler kan springa i hastigheter på upp till 40 mph i korta spurter och kan fortsätta i 30 mph så länge som en timme. Operatören sätter på piskantennen, beordrar jockeyn att dra i tyglarna och ropar uppmuntran till kamelen via en inbyggd högtalare.
De sönderfallande ruinerna av Zekreet Fort verkar vara gamla, men platsen byggdes för bara 200 år sedan, kanske av piratledaren Raḥmah ibn Jābir al-Jalāhimah. Den användes i bara ett eller två decennier. Besök Zekreet Fort för att se hur Qatars sol, sand, vindar och enstaka regn har reducerat strukturen till en kontur av den tidigare befästningen. Gå runt fortets typiska fyrkantiga form. Lägg märke till dess hörntorn inklusive tre cirkulära och en kvadrat.

The tour lasted about 4 hours, with searching the hotel we were in. The guide Rizwan was extremely polite, requested and provided all the necessary information.

It was a very pleasant experience with Rehan to the camel racetrack, sand sculptures... The explanations were very good and interesting. Finally, a sweet milk spice tea! Fine!
I went to the west coast of Qatar. We looked around at natural strange rocks, robots practicing camel racing, modern art and beaches. The guide is very attentive 👍. My guide told me that the Japanese only smile and say yes. It's better to say clearly what's wrong or what you don't like.
This was a very interesting tour and a good way to see parts of Qatar beyond the city of Doha. We had a small group (myself, the driver, and two others) so were able to have some conversation and listen to music to pass the time to the drive out west and back. The desert is really beautiful in its starkness - such a contrast to Doha and well worth the visit! Rehan was also an excellent guide - he quite literally took me by the hand to make sure that I could explore the rock formations safely. The trip was as-promised around four hours round-trip, including a quick stop for karak chai. If you're looking to get out of the city, I highly recommend this tour.
We had a very nice trip to the west coast of Qatar. The tourguide Rehan made it a nice experience, explaining everything and taking pictures of us. We recommend seeing this part of Qatar. 👍🏻 👍🏻
