Börja kvällen med att kryssa längs Wakatipusjöns vatten från Queenstown ombord på antingen det ikoniska vintageångfartyget TSS Earnslaw eller den eleganta Spirit of Queenstown. Stig in i den charmiga Colonel's Homestead Restaurant vid sjön, där den lockande doften av vedeldad grill fyller luften. Våra kockar tillagar ett munvattnande pålägg med de finaste lokala råvarorna, med en generös buffé av krispiga sallader, säsongens grönsaker och möra snittar av lokalt producerat kött. Glöm inte urvalet av desserter! From purchasing the ticket to devouring the dessert, the whole Earnshaw experience was thoroughly enjoyablable. The after dinner show and the voyage home we cannot recommend highly enough. The food selection was devine and catered to everyone -- especially the dessert bar! Special mention to Charlotte for going above and beyond. Thank you very much for a very memorable night. This made for a very delightful birthday surprise for my parents.
Wow what a spectacular evening. We booked the dinner cruise departing Queenstown wharf at 5.00pm for a buffet style bbq dinner at Walter Peak Station. The evening was a birthday treat (70th) which the Real NZ staff were aware of giving us a dedicated table both in the Earnslaw and at Walter Peak not to mention singing “happy birthday “. The food served was sensational, perfectly bbq’ed pork, lamb and venison. Great vege and desserts. i literally rolled out feeling so uncomfortable having gorged on so much great food, The farm show that followed dinner was entertaining and the Earnslaw voyage a delight.
Beautiful chug down the lake capturing magical vista with the opportunity to view exceptional & historic engineering aboard the Earnslaw, still coal driven. When pulling into the wharf, the Staff at Peak Station were on the foreshore waving us in, just fantastic. The food is excellent. The selection of NZ meat, cheese & fish clearly showcased. It was the best buffet quality food I have ever experienced.
Atmosphere and choices of food in buffets
It was a chilly but beautiful experience - the cruise, dinner and an education on sheep shearing. We were a party of 10, 3 generations and the kids and grandkids had fun. The food was excellent- the variety sumptuous. I would highly recommend this to big families going on tour.

A fantastic expereince all round. One of the highlights was the personal attention I recieved for having particular dietry needs. I was walked through the food avaialble to let me know what I could and could not eat. Attention to detail was second to none and the selection of food that I could eat was incredible. Thanks to all involved and the whole team that put these trips together. Huge thanks and appreciation.
Coeliacs…! You are catered for so well on this experience. We have one Coeliac in the family and she was so well looked after. When booking I alerted them to having a Coeliac within the group and when we arrived they sort them out and walked them through what was safe (which was a lot!) and what was unsafe. They made sure that Miss Coeliac went up first before everyone (to ensure no cross contamination) and encourage her to take loads of food to make sure she would be full and satisfied - which she did and she was very very full! The food was incredible and experience was definitely one of our favourites of the trip. It is worth it!!
This is a fabulous experience. Dinner is well organised and yummy. We enjoyed the sticky date pudding for dessert, it was the star as the other desserts weren’t great. The show after was excellent too. We went at night so didn’t get to see the rest of the farm but what we did see was beautiful. Having the staff waving to welcome you was a special touch.
The TSS Walter Peak Steamboat was packed for the evening cruise. Unlike other tours that I have taken in the day, this one felt overwhelming with the crowds. If not for the rainy day, I'm sure the views over lake Waikatipu would have been stunning. It was a nice buffet dinner at Walter Peak, with a wide range of roasted meats and sauces available. However, as I had just been to the stoker room, the quality of the meats paled in comparison. The saving grace for the dinner was definitely the toffee pudding.
