Din turné börjar i den fantastiska staden Queenstown. När vi kör ut ur staden kommer din guide inte bara att sätta scenen för ditt äventyr idag utan också peka ut och guida dig förbi några av områdets främsta höjdpunkter.
Från Queenstown slingrar vi oss runt Lake Wakatipu, med fantastisk utsikt över "The Remarkables" Mountain Range och sjön.
Vi fortsätter runt sjön och passerar genom Devil's Staircase. Denna förhöjda blåsiga del av vägen är känd för dramatiska bilder och sätter scenen för dagen som kommer.
Efter mer fantastisk utsikt över berg, floder och jordbruksmark anländer vi till Te Anau, hem till Lake Te Anau, Nya Zeelands näst största sjö. Medan vi är i denna idylliska stad kommer vi att stanna för en paus och kanske träffa några av de lokala djuren eller vilda djur. Vi fortsätter längs sjön och stannar vid Te Anau Downs, startpunkten för Milford Track, för att höra historierna och beundra utsikten.
När vi lämnar Te Anau och går in i Fiordland National Park stannar vi till i Eglinton Valley. Med utsikt värdig Sagan om Ringen, följer denna dal en gammal glaciärs väg genom Fiordland. En av de första stora attraktionerna när du går in i parken, den skapar verkligen scenen för en resa som bara blir mer imponerande ju djupare du kommer.
Vårt nästa stopp på detta episka äventyr är Mirror Lakes för en kort promenad för att se de berömda reflektionerna av Earl Mountains. Få rätt dag, ta en bra bild och ingen med kan säga vilken väg som är rätt väg upp för fotot.
Vi fortsätter längs Milford Road och stöter på sjön Gunn. Uppkallad efter en berömd upptäcktsresande och populär för fiske, stannar vi ofta vid sjön Gunn för några bilder och för att njuta av lugnet.
En kort bilresa bort börjar vi passera Hollyford River, en vacker och kraftfull flod full av stora stenblock och forsar. Att mata in i floden vid Falls Creek är det första av våra extremt imponerande vattenfall i området, ett av många som kommer.
När vi klättrar i höjd går vi djupare in i Darran-bergen och dessa vyer kräver ytterligare ett stopp för att beundra och ta bilder. Vi går också in i området där Kea (världens största alppapegoja) gillar att leva. Börja hålla utkik efter dessa stora, fräcka och färgglada fåglar som aldrig misslyckas med att spännande och underhålla när de hittas.
För att ta oss tillbaka ner mot havet går vi in i den häpnadsväckande handbyggda Homer-tunneln och hör den otroliga historien och berättelserna. När dalen dyker upp från tunneln faller dalen kraftigt mot Milford Sound och på en regnig dag faller hundratals vattenfall nerför bergssidan.
Efter dalarna till havet anländer vi till Milford Sound där du går ombord på din kryssning med Cruise Milford (kryssningsarrangören nr 1 i Milford Sound på TripAdvisor).
Medan du är på båtkryssningen kommer du att kunna förundras över den imponerande Mitre Peak, det ikoniska berget Milford Sound, med sin branta triangulära topp som reser sig högt upp över det reflekterande vattnet i Milford Sound.
Därefter drar vi över för att beundra den förhöjda fantastiska utsikten över klyftan i södra Alperna, nära starten av Routeburn Track. Medan här kommer guiden att berätta historierna om forntida maori-upptäckare.
Tyvärr måste vi börja bege oss tillbaka till Queenstown men din dag är inte över med en fullt guidad återresa och många stopp och pauser längs vägen.

What a great experience it was experiencing the Milford Sounds! The day we went was super raining and cloudy, however that worked out because everywhere we looked were waterfalls. Danny, our guide, did an amazing job guiding us and giving us cool facts! Cheeky kiwis does an amazing job organizing everything and making sure we stopped for the best photos. It’s a must do when in Queenstown!
What an absolutely unforgettable experience! The Milford Sound Small Group Tour and Cruise from Queenstown was worth every single penny and every minute of the day. If you're visiting Queenstown, this should be at the very top of your bucket list. A huge thank you to our tour guide, Jason, who truly made the journey exceptional. His knowledge of the region was incredible, and he shared fascinating facts and stories throughout the trip. He was friendly, personable, funny, and always happy to help, making everyone feel comfortable and looked after. The small group setting made the experience feel much more intimate and personal than a large coach tour. The drive to Milford Sound was just as spectacular as the destination itself. We stopped at a variety of scenic locations along the way, each offering breathtaking views and plenty of opportunities for photos. Every stop showcased another incredible part of this country’s natural beauty. The Milford Sound cruise was simply unforgettable. Even though we experienced very rainy weather, it only added to the magic, with countless waterfalls cascading down the cliffs and creating some of the most breathtaking scenery we've ever seen. By the end of the trip you’ll be grateful for the rain. This tour exceeded all our expectations. From the incredible scenery and well-planned stops to Jason's outstanding guidance and the intimate atmosphere, everything was perfect. We couldn't recommend it more highly—it's truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that everyone should have on their bucket list.

**A Long Day, but Absolutely Worth It!** This 13-hour tour may sound like a long day, and the drive to Milford Sound may seem far, but it is absolutely worth it! Our guide and driver for the day was Nicky, and she was cheerful, bubbly, and so much fun. We really enjoyed spending the day with her! We were picked up from our Queenstown hotel at 6:30 a.m. and headed toward Milford Sound with a small group of around 15 people. There were plenty of restroom breaks throughout the day, as well as a stop at a café around 9:30 a.m. for breakfast and coffee, which was the perfect pick-me-up. Afterward, we continued toward Milford Sound, enjoying incredible scenery and several beautiful lookout stops along the way. Nicky provided great commentary and even made additional stops so we could take photos and fully appreciate the views. The café also prepared boxed picnic lunches for us. Nicky collected the lunches and our cruise tickets, making everything feel organized and stress-free. Once we arrived at Milford Sound, we boarded a smaller cruise boat with around 30 passengers and enjoyed our lunches while cruising through the fiord. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking. Words cannot describe the beauty of the towering mountains, hills, and waterfalls. We were fortunate to have a beautiful day and even spotted some wildlife, including a seal swimming nearby! On the drive back to Queenstown, we had several more restroom stops and returned to the same café for another quick break. I used the time to feed the alpacas on the property! Alpaca food was available for only $1, so I bought some and shared it with a few other people from our tour. It was such a fun way to spend the 15-minute break. Another highlight happened while we were driving down the mountain and spotted a kea. Nicky pulled over so we could get a better look. The bird climbed all over someone’s car and then hopped onto our van! It was hilarious watching Nicky “protect the van,” since keas are known for picking at the rubber around cars. This was such a funny moment and I’m so glad she pulled over! These birds are so entertaining! We enjoyed the relaxing drive back and arrived in Queenstown at around 7:00 p.m. I even managed to take a small nap! Nicky provided snacks and water, and the van had both USB and USB-C charging outlets, which was very convenient. It was a truly spectacular and unforgettable day. Thank you, Nicky and Cheeky Kiwi Travel, for such an amazing Milford Sound experience!

We had Lynette as our guide for the trip and she was the loveliest. Had a load of stories to share about the history and legends of the areas we were passing and/or stopping at. The drive was also amazing, there was a good amount of stops to really make the trip that extra special for such a long drive. We got lucky and got a fabulous sunny winter day. Excellent tour with Jeff our tour guide. Very knowledgeable, funny and friendly. Length was a full day and felt like just a couple of hours. Fantastic stops all worth jumping out for.

The landscape and nature is extremely beautiful. Free coffee and tea, close up on waterfalls and extremely cool animals (penguins and seals). 10/10 very money worth. The driver also was very friendly and gave a lot of cool, fun facts. The photo opportunities are low-key crazy not even gonna lie. all facts and no opinions. This is my opinion and if you have a different opinion, your wrong.

The small hroup was fantastic, guide, the experience. However the lunch needs to be better. They should serve lunch on board the boat. Buffet style. Not picking up homemade from a servo. The small bag that is given containing a wet a sandwich that clearly the bread had been frozen, it was like a bad school lunch. It wasnt child friendly at all. With no other options. Very disappointed we all were very hungry by the end of the day.
