Den ursprungliga sushilektionen i liten grupp i Kyoto

Beskrivning

Ayumi and Kuniko were awesome. Fun class Highly recommend this class. Pay for the experience not the food. Lots of fun and they serve alcohol so Bonus
This experience is truly for all with just a small interest in Sushi. Under expert guidance from Kana we all got more knowledgeable on sushi and managed to create a super fine plate of Nigiri and Maki. That in it self was a great experience. In addition the talk we had while we enjoyed our creations with Kana, her husband and the other group there was super nice and clearly facilitated by the openness of Kana and her husband and the atmosphere in the work shop. Our family agree that this is properly the one thing that stand out from our stop in Kyoto.
Dear Michael J, Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review. We are honoured that the workshop was the experience that stood out most from your family's time in Kyoto. We are especially pleased to hear that you enjoyed not only learning the techniques behind nigiri and maki, but also the conversations shared around the table afterwards. One of our favourite parts of the workshop is getting to know our guests in a relaxed setting, where everyone can enjoy the sushi they've created together. Your sushi looked absolutely fantastic in the accompanying photo! It was wonderful to see how much care everyone put into creating it. Thank you again for choosing Atelier SUSHI and for your generous recommendation. We wish your family many happy memories of Kyoto and many enjoyable sushi-making evenings together in the future. Kana’s sushi workshop is an absolute highlight of a trip to Kyoto! You learn about various types of sushi and an incredible amount about Japan. I was a sushi avoider until this course, that has changed :) Kana and her husband Karim are wonderful hosts, highly recommended!!!

Fantastic experience, more local culture information as well as such a great teacher in Kana and Kerim supporting. Kind, clear, caring. Sushi making was wonderful, tasted the best we ate in Japan. A wonderful experience and 100% recommended.

This was a super cool activity. I would recommend it to anyone. The sushi was super tasty. We made nigiri and a full lemur roll that you can eat yourself afterwards of course 😁! I found the class so pleasant mainly because of the nice people. The teacher took her time to explain everything properly. You got water during class and a small gift afterwards😊. You could really ask them anything; about sushi, but also about the Japanese lifestyle and habits. Fantastic!!
Dear Mira D, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a wonderful review and for your recommendation. We are delighted to hear how much you enjoyed learning to make both nigiri and maki, and that you found the sushi just as enjoyable to eat afterwards! One of our favourite parts of the workshop is the conversations we have with our guests. We are always happy to answer questions about sushi, Japanese culture, and everyday life in Kyoto, so it is lovely to hear that those discussions added to your experience. Thank you again for choosing Atelier SUSHI during your time in Kyoto. We hope the rolling mat reminds you of the workshop and inspires many homemade sushi nights in the future! Atelier SUSHI
From the very moment we arrived, we received a warm welcome and were immersed in a magical atmosphere: calm, incredibly pleasant, making you feel welcomed, valued, and special... there is no rush at all, as if time has stopped and you find yourself in a magical moment of a Japanese adventure. Both instructors, Kana and Ayumi, are wonderful people—true hosts and attentive conversationalists. They take a genuine interest in you, make you feel important as a person, and you can truly sense their warmth and openness. They are extremely charming and sincerely kind! You can ask them anything, and they also shared many useful recommendations about what my daughter and I could visit. Thanks to them, we went to the beautiful nearby Kiyomizu-dera Temple, which was absolutely worth it. THANK YOU, Kana and Ayumi! May there be many more sunny-hearted people like the two of you! The workshop itself is excellent: relaxed, clearly explained, and structured step by step. You personally go through every stage of preparing two different types of sushi. Ayumi demonstrates everything carefully, then you do it yourself while she checks that everything is correct and enthusiastically celebrates your success. There were only six participants in our group, so she was able to give each of us individual attention. I am not really a sushi lover myself—I joined the workshop because of my daughter, who absolutely loves sushi. Yet in the end, I ate every type of sushi I had prepared, and everything tasted amazing! I think the lovely atmosphere throughout those two hours was also part of what made it so enjoyable. At the end, we enjoyed a cup of tea together, all in a relaxed and peaceful setting, with time for a pleasant chat. It is such a wonderful feeling to see—and proudly eat—the sushi you have created yourself! Before saying goodbye, we received a lovely gift: an origami crane and a sushi-rolling mat. They will be beautiful reminders of Kana and Ayumi and of this unforgettable sushi-making experience. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!! Nina&Lana
Dear Nina & Lana, Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a thoughtful and heartfelt review. Reading your kind words truly means a great deal to us, and we are delighted that the workshop became such a special memory for both of you. We are especially pleased to hear how much you enjoyed the atmosphere of the experience. Creating a space where guests can slow down, relax, and feel genuinely welcome is something that is very important to us, so it is wonderful to know that this was part of what made your visit so memorable. It was a pleasure getting to know you both during the workshop and chatting over tea afterwards. We always enjoy sharing recommendations for some of our favourite places around Kyoto, particularly the many wonderful local businesses and historic sites that make this city so special. We're delighted to hear you enjoyed your visit to Kiyomizu-dera. We are also very happy that, even as someone who doesn't usually enjoy sushi, you discovered that making it yourself could be such a rewarding and delicious experience! You both did a fantastic job preparing your sushi. Thank you once again for choosing Atelier SUSHI and for your incredibly generous recommendation. We wish you both many wonderful adventures ahead and many years of enjoyable sushi making together. Atelier SUSHI
This place was just lovely. The setting was beautiful; everything was so clean and organized. The hosts were so kind and warm with us and with our 5 and 7 year old. They were so patient and wonderful helping our kids make their sushi. The fish was fresh and delicious. 10/10 experience.
Dear Leah H, Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a wonderful review and for your kind recommendation. We are delighted to hear that your family enjoyed the workshop and that it became such a memorable part of your time in Kyoto. It was a pleasure welcoming you all to our machiya. We love sharing our venue with guests and are so pleased you enjoyed the atmosphere as much as the sushi itself. Your children did a fantastic job making their sushi—it's always a joy to see budding young sushi chefs get so involved and have fun throughout the experience! Thank you again for choosing Atelier SUSHI. We wish your family many happy memories of your time in Japan and many years of sushi making together. Atelier SUSHI
We had such a wonderful time learning how to prepare and present sushi at Atelier Sushi! From preparing the rice at the table to arranging the fish and creating our own cut rolls, our host, Ayumi, and assistant Kuniko, offered expert guidance at every step. The workshop is held in a very cozy little restaurant set in an original-style Kyoto townhouse that's been completely remodeled in gorgeous, modern minimalism on the inside. Everything from the furniture to the textural ceramic serveware has been tastefully and artistically curated. Ayumi and Kuniko were so gracious and informative—greeting us warmly and teaching with great patience and attentiveness. By the end of the sessions, we knew how to use all the tools and make the meal in great style. And, of course, then we got to eat it! The sushi was delicious, and the afternoon was thoroughly enjoyable. An absolute highlight of our time in Kyoto.

We had a lovely time at our sushi-making class at Atelier SUSHI. The instructor was friendly and approachable and we learned a lot about the techniques behind making nigiri and maki. The setting was intimate and well suited to a small group like a family or group of friends. The small setting allows for lots of interaction and makes it easy to ask questions and get hands-on experience.
Dear Bina G, Thank you so much for leaving such a lovely review. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed learning the techniques behind both nigiri and maki, and that the small-group setting made the experience feel relaxed and interactive.
