Vi börjar vår resa på morgonen från ditt hotell. Körningen tar cirka 3 timmar. Museumsreservat ligger på det stora territoriet med kullar, kanjoner och stenar. Det finns 6 grupper av petroglyfer med olika epoker. Vi kommer att följa dem alla. Föreställ dig - du kommer att få chansen att lära dig konsten och samtidigt dokument från människor som bodde här för hundratusentals år sedan!

Tamgaly museumsreservat är ett unikt världsberömt arkeologiskt komplex i Kazakstan. 2004 har det gått in på UNESCO: s världsarvslista. Petroglyfer täcker flera tidsintervall, från bronsåldern till XIII - XIV århundradena av vår tid.

Although it was a long drive, the petroglyphs were interesting. The area is not properly conserved or protected and there were few interpretative signs. The driver was nice and offered snacks made by his wife as there is nothing nearby to buy anything. The bathroom was a hole in a shed. I expected more from a UNESCO site and believe the tour was substantially overpriced.
The Petroglyphs were wonderful, it not sure they were with the $200 plus price. The guide’s English was not particularly good. (He thought “convenient” meant “difficult.”). Subsequently, he didn’t translate any of the local guide’s commentary about the petroglyphs. Neither did the guide own a car. He dragooned a taxi driver friend into driving us out there. He was supposed to provide water, but only looked for a store to buy some when I requested he do so. This is not a very professional company, but may be the cheapest way to get to the petroglyphs unless you rent a car yourself.
