City Tour Cusco: Sacsayhuaman Qenqo PucaPucara och Tambomachay

Jared our tour guide was amazing, he shared a lot of interesting facts of all the places we visited. We visited 4 incas ruins and the Qorikancha. Time was right in all the places. The only thing I didn’t like was the amount of time we spent in some alpaca clothing store. He should gave 20-30 minutes shopping time not 1 hour. That is the only reason for me to give this tour 4 of 5 starts.

The guide was excellent, the problem was that they put two languages in the same tour, that is a fatal error, the guide had to explain things twice, we were delayed a lot and ended up rushing, visits to shops to buy things are prioritized a lot, that is not bad, but the time should be 50/50, some of us took this trip for archaeology, unfortunately, there was not enough time for that.

This tour was one of the best decisions we made in Cusco and gave us a fantastic grounding before visiting Machu Picchu. We visited Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun) first, spending around 45–60 minutes there, which was the perfect introduction to Incan cosmology, religion and the remarkable engineering that underpinned the empire. From there we travelled by comfortable minibus to the hilltop archaeological sites, spending roughly 30–45 minutes at each location — Sacsayhuamán, Qenqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay. Each stop offered something different: the sheer scale and stonework of Sacsayhuamán was breathtaking; Qenqo felt more spiritual and ceremonial; Puca Pucara gave useful military context; and Tambomachay was a fascinating insight into Incan water engineering and ritual. What really elevated the experience was our guide, Luis. He was exceptional — knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the subject. We learned that he had contributed to a major book on the Incan Empire, and that depth of expertise really came through. Rather than just reciting facts, he brought the civilisation to life, helping us understand not only what we were seeing but why it mattered. Throughout the tour, Luis layered in insightful context about Incan governance, architecture, astronomy and daily life, all delivered in a way that was accessible and memorable. Transport was comfortable, timings were well managed, and we never felt rushed or left waiting. For the quality of guiding, transport and the number of sites covered, this was excellent value for money. I’d highly recommend this tour early in your Cusco stay — it gives you the historical foundation that makes everything else, especially Machu Picchu, far richer.

My mom and I took a tour with Luis, and it was an amazing tour. We were able to learn so much about Cusco and the Inca empire by visiting these sites, and we would definitely recommend the tour.

The guide Julius Caesar was amazing. It is notorious how much knowledge he has, explaining very well each point we visit with so much zeal. Learn more about the Inca culture was a unique experience. In addition to a great guide, he was super kind to help me with problems from another tour, which was neither with him nor with the company. An additional affection that he may not even have noticed, but made a positive and very important difference for me. The service was done by the guide + driver and the van was in excellent condition. I highly recommend.

Very comprehensive tour hitting all the top spots with great guides. Spent just the right amount of time at each spot and got good information about each site from our guide.

They picked up us from our hotel with different car. After Convento santo domingo, we were transferred to another bus . The bus was reasonable comfortable for the journey. The weather was pleasant but rainy in the last two places. The tour guide Louise explained us about the history and culture.

A lot of good information, however i was the only English speaker which made a lot of work for the guide. He did an excellent job with great information.

Really interesting tour. We did not need to travel far from the city centre to see incredible Inca buildings. Our guide was really interesting and we felt we understood a lot more around the whole history than we had on other tours.
