2 EXTREMA TURER PÅ ERBJUDANDE. Börja i väder och slut på månen. CHACALTAYA - Det var ett skidområde med bara en mekanisk hiss, placerad över en glaciar, även kallad Chacaltaya. Dessutom fanns det en restaurang och en stuga för turister. Många besökare åkte till berget året runt. Det var en vanlig underhållning för medel- och överklasser, som tillbringade sina dagar där. VALLE DE LA LUNA - en labyrint av kanjoner och jättespiror. Formationerna, som huvudsakligen består av lera och sandsten, skapades av den ständiga erosionen av bergen av områdets starka vindar och regn. En av Valley de la Lunas mest hisnande funktioner är dess varierande pall, som sträcker sig från klara beige toner till sektioner av röd och mörk lila. Detta naturfenomen beror på den stora variationen i mineralinnehållet mellan varje enskilt berg, vilket skapar färgglada kompositioner och imponerande optiska illusioner på de eroderade sluttningarna.

Chacaltaya Ski Resort ligger på en höjd av 5 375 m över havet. Det är världens högsta skidort, eller snarare det var. Du ser resterna av det som var världens högsta skidort. Du tar en högst 2 timmars vandring fram till orten, där du får en fantastisk utsikt över La Paz och de omgivande bergskedjorna. Valle de La Luna (Moon Valley), sten & lera höga spirformationer eroderade från ett berg som var en av de saker Neil Armstrong såg när han var på månen. Enligt lokala guider fick Valley de Luna sitt namn efter att Neil Armstrong tydligen besökte platsen och påpekade hur landskapet liknade månens. Guiderna leder dig till varje kontur i detta fantastiska landskap. Det är verkligen spektakulärt

Absolutely one of my highlights in Bolivia! Where in the world can you get up to an altitude of 5400m above sea level without any mountain climbing equipment!!! Spectacular! I am 62 ! If I can do it , you can do it too. Moon valley is quite amazing tii
The Guide Ricardo was very friendly and attentive, but the stay time at the Chacaltaya was only 1 hour, unlike what is stated in the description, which ended up being a little frustrating for not giving time to go to the second summit as well as taking photos. The whole tour in both places ended up being very busy and we chose to stay in Vale de la Luna, dispensing the Guide, to enjoy the place more because 1 hour is not enough.
Ricardo is an excellent guide, fluent in English and Spanish. Knowledgeable about the mountains and many other things Bolivia. Also David is a phenomenal driver!
It's a pretty rough road to get to Chacaltaya, but the driver seemed to know what he was doing. Unfortunately when we arrived it started snowing hard so there wasn't much to see, but the experience was great nonetheless. Our guide was great, with a lot of enthusiasm and energy. He gave some interesting facts about the mountain and the history of Valle de la Luna. The only negative is that they were a bit late picking us up in the morning. For the price it was more than worth it!
The company told me the day before that this tour was not available despite my reservation. They offered me another interesting ride. However, I was sick because of the altitude and they had to meet a doctor by chance to finally give me oxygen. Although I was severely ill at the beginning of the tour, they continued to climb even higher and my condition worsened. I didn't feel my health was the priority of this company.
I had booked this experience and planned my trip accordingly. The evening before the trip, they cancelled the whole trip, although I had gotten a final confirmation upon booking. Not a serious organization, dont book there!!!!!
Many apologies, for your time and changing your plans. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we did not have any other tourists for that tour on that day. we waited until the last moment not to cancel but we didn't get it...sorry

We started by Valle de Luna and it was nice. It is quite simple and the tour takes around 1 hour. Ya Chacaltaya was pretty legal. The climb is intense but nothing impossible and the view from above compensates for all the effort. I recommend taking the Sorojchi pill because it is too high and the head hurts. Always have water and some snack.

The tour was punctual contacted us to indicate the meeting point, we set off with little expectation for the weather, but when we arrived we were surprised to see the wonderful place. You need to wear boots if you want to reach the top, otherwise you can wait in a restaurant until everyone finishes the tour, you must also wear quite warm and waterproof clothes. The guide tells us in detail the characteristics of the place , as a suggestion the place does not have an adequate bathroom in chacaltaya .
