Följ med på vår lilla gruppresa och upptäck de bergiga, bästa vinodlingsområdena i Sydafrika. Denna tur kombinerar den ständigt populära Franschhoek spårvagn och tillåter också ett besök i den historiska staden Stellenbosch i en unik miljö. Vi har valt ut våra vinprovningsstopp noggrant för att möjliggöra en perfekt balans mellan de som är på jakt efter historisk arkitektur och Instagram-sökare till de mest kritiska vinkännarna i världen. Hämtning sker från ditt hotell i Kapstaden och det gör även avlämningen. Ta gärna med era tomma kameror, olika outfits om ni vill och starkaste smaklökar när ni ska ut på en resa av nya upptäckter och mer.

Efter att du har blivit hämtad från ditt boende i Kapstaden. Du kommer att resa på motorväg N2 genom Cape Flats till den bergiga staden Stellenbosch. Medan du kör kommer din guide att ge en kommentar om de viktiga landmärken som du kommer att köra förbi. Vid ankomsten till Stellenbosch stad, kommer du att ha en chans att kliva av fordonet och upptäcka den pittoreska och mysiga staden till fots. Endemiska byggnader i Kapholländsk stil flyter parallellt med de lummiga gatorna i Stellenbosch och över en 150 år gammal vattenfåra gör ett framsteg för stadens nordöstra mjuka sluttning. Gamla och nya butiker handlar med konst, antikviteter, smycken och snidat trä. Du kanske också vill ta tillfället i akt att ta en kaffe och absorbera stadens pulserande energi innan du går vidare till din första vinprovningsupplevelse för dagen.
Efter den snabba utforskningen av Stellenbosch stad, kommer nästa stopp att vara på Lanzerac vingård för din choklad och vinprovning parning erfarenhet. Lanzerac är en av de äldsta vingårdarna i Stellenbosch och täcker cirka 200 hektar mark vid foten av Jonkershoek Mountains. Den vackra vingården är känd bland många attribut, för att ha de bästa exemplen på de endemiska Cape Dutch Architectural byggnader i världen. Herrgården med anor från 1830-talet har status som provinsiellt kulturarv och skapar tillsammans med vingårdarna och vinkällaren en typisk fransk tradition av att sammanfoga ett lanthotell och en vingård. Det är i Lanzerac som Pinotage först tappades på flaska. Din upplevelse här kommer dock inte ha något att göra med det enda sydafrikanska vinet utan en unik provning av 5 Premium-viner parat perfekt med ett urval av hantverksmässiga chokladsorter. Chokladen är tänkt att exponera för dig de olika vinklarna i vinets konsistens före och efter.
Från Lanzerac kör du upp och ner för de kuperade och slingrande helveteshöjderna till Tokara. Till skillnad från det historiska Lanzerac är Tokara känt för sitt moderna utseende, utsikt som sträcker sig ända till Taffelberget och en olivlund som producerar några av de bästa olivolja i området. Vinprovningen här består av 5 klassiska viner inklusive en Rose och en av de bästa Carbert Sauvignon i området som har varit nära naturen i 2 decennier sedan sekelskiftet. De djupa rika jordarna som består av förmultnad granit, vittrad sandsten ger Tokara förmånen att odla enskilda partier som sedan blandas för att göra toppviner. Tokara vinrådgivare delar med sig av all information om vinerna när du provar dem individuellt och om du har tid kanske du också vill prova olivoljan eller till och med ett ostfat. Vi förbehåller oss rätten att göra ett alternativt stopp om Tokara skulle vara fullbokat eller stängt för privata evenemang
Efter din andra vinprovningsupplevelse tar resan oss till Franschhoek stad via den historiska staden Pniel. Många bönder från Frankrike dök upp vid Kapprovinsen på 1680-talet och fick därefter mark här för att odla vingårdar och därmed blev staden känd som Franschhoek, vilket betyder fransmännens hörna. Franschhoek omges av berg och välskötta vingårdar på alla sidor, och ger en vacker korrelation mellan naturen och människans arbete. Den vackert byggda egendomen Leeu bestående av konstgallerier, hotell och restauranger lämnar en med en brinnande önskan att stanna här mycket längre. Vi kommer att ha en lunchpaus här och du kanske också vill ta tillfället i akt att utforska butikerna, denna stad skulle inte svika. Samma som i Stellenbosch, här kan man hitta konstaffärer, juvelbutiker, fina läderbutiker, klädbutiker eller till och med fina chokladfabriker!
Strax efter lunchrasten och utforskandet av Franschhoek kommer turen att göra framsteg mot Franschhoek-terminalerna för din andra del av vinprovningsupplevelsen med spårvagn. Din reseledare ger dig dina spårvagnsbiljetter och förklarar för dig hur du läser spårvagnens tidtabell. Det tar vanligtvis cirka 8 minuter för spårvagnen att resa mellan gårdar och du kan hoppa på en gård som du väljer bland listan över gårdar som finns på din rutt. Två skulle vara det maximala antalet gårdar som du kan besöka med spårvagn, men du kan också göra en tredje, om tiden tillåter.
Ditt första möjliga stopp med spårvagn skulle vara vid den första kvinnliga gården i Franschhoek, Rickety bridge. Spårvagnen släpper av dig vid Rickety Bridge-terminalerna där du hämtas upp av en gårdstraktor med bekväma sittplatser och transporteras till vinprovningsområdet. Här är du mer än välkommen att välja något av de tillgängliga vinprovningsalternativen. Du kan också välja bort vinprovningen och istället sitta på Paulinas restaurang där du kan ta ett mellanmål, kaffe eller beställa ett glas vin och njuta av panoramautsikten över bergen och vingårdarna i Franschhoekdalen.
Franschhoek källare är en av gårdarna i Kapstadens vinmarker som erbjuder unika viner och ost eller handgjorda belgiska chokladpar. Den belgiska chokladen tillverkas längre ner på vägen i samma stad och det gör även vinet. En traditionell vinprovning är också tillgänglig om det är ett bättre val för dig. Franschhoekkällaren ligger också närmast spårvagnsterminalerna och om du vill sträcka på benen efter en hel dag med flera vinprovningar kan du faktiskt gå till terminalerna för att träffa din reseledare och resten av gruppen.
På vägen tillbaka till Kapstaden får du möjlighet att stanna till vid ett fängelse där Nelson Mandela tillbringade de sista 2 åren av sina 27 år i fängelse. En bronsstaty i naturlig storlek av denne store man står precis utanför fängelseportarna med knuten näve i luften som för att symbolisera styrka och mod. Din guide ger dig en kort sammanfattning om fängelsets förflutna, nutid och frigivningen av Nelson Mandela innan du fortsätter till Kapstaden för avlämning på ditt hotell.

Simply put this was great. Our guide, Joseph, was awesome. He's friendly, very knowledgeable about the area, the history and the wines and he just makes you feel comfortable throughout the who day. We had a small intimate group for this tour which made it better as we bonded really well. For me, Lanzerac Wine Estate near Stellenbosch was the standout. With each of the wines, I chose to have chocolates with each wine. They paired the chocolates to the wine very well. The history behind the wines and the farm made it more real. Tokara wine estate is a very modern place which added a different ambience from Lanzerac. We then headed to Franschhoek and Leeu estate where we had lunch and another selection of wines. This was a good place to stop. As we were in a small group, we were relaxed, chatty and the lunch was good. After that we jumped on the Franschhoek wine tram which is ok. I'm judging it harshly as I am from Melbourne. But as the Franschhoek wine tram serves the wine estates, its a nice thing to travel on. We stopped at the Franschhoek Cellar for our final tasting. For me personally, Lanzerac Wine Estate was the pick of the bunch. I'm no expert on wines but I can taste the difference in each of them. Ultimately it was Joseph who made our day enjoyable. Aside from his knowledge, his personality filled the car and made us feel comfortable and we had a lot of laughs. Thanks mate!!

It was convenient to be picked up from my hotel and driven around the wine country. We stopped at four delightful vineyards and tried exquisite wines. The experience was delightful: our guide was knowledgable and the other guests made for a memorable experience. 12 international students riding high on wine were singing Sweet Caroline, Its a Kind of Magic, Country Roads, and other bangers after a day of beautiful vistas, friendly conversation, and fine wine. 12/10, highly recommended!

I was really looking forward to this tour and it didn’t disappoint. Candy (our guide) arrived on time and was very friendly. During the tour she shared great facts about the cities and towns and shared a lot about herself and life in Cape Town. She was personable and got to know each of us and made sure we interacted with each other creating a little family of friends. She gave great suggestions and and had us laughing the entire time!! Last week my sister and I had an absolutely incredible time with Peter leading us through a day of wine tasting. The wines and scenery were fantastic, but it was really Peter who made the trip what it was. When he wasn’t acting as our personal photographer, he joked around with us and was also very insightful about life in South Africa. If you want to visit the best vineyards and hit the tram in one tour, snag this one with Kevin. He drove and entertained us with stories! I am a wine snob and bought several bottles at Duty Free because the wine is that good, especially Boschendal and Tokara. 10/10 recommend 🥰

We had such a lovely day wine tasting in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek! Peter was our guide and he did the best job. The wineries were wonderful and the scenery was gorgeous. We also loved stopping to see where Nelson Mandela spent his last years of imprisonment before making the long walk to freedom. Such a wonderful day in Cape Town!
