Följ med mig på denna privata tur när vi utforskar en av mina favoritvägar i Sydafrika, den fantastiska Kaphalvön. Turen är fullspäckad med ikoniska sevärdheter. Höjdpunkterna inkluderar en valfri båttur till Seal Island, en promenad genom den färgglada stadsdelen Bo-Kaap och en hisnande bilresa längs Chapmans Peak, allt innan vi ens når pingvinerna vid Boulders Beach eller de dramatiska klipporna på Godahoppsudden, som av många anses vara uddens kronjuveler. Men denna upplevelse är mer än bara besöka berömda landmärken. Det är en rik upplevelse som börjar när jag hämtar dig och fortsätter tills du kommer tillbaka. Som Kapstadenbo med djup kunskap om området kommer jag att dela med mig av många intressanta detaljer, från historiska landmärken, geologi och lokala smaker. Att resa i ett privat fordon innebär att vi kan utforska i en avslappnad takt, med friheten att stanna, ta bilder och njuta av varje ögonblick. I början av turnén. Du kommer att erbjudas ett kort stopp i den berömda färgglada Bo-kaap. Detta är ett av de äldsta kvarteren i Kapstaden. Tidigare känd som Malay quater, efter det malaysiska folket som var förs in i Kapstaden av holländarna som slavar. Förutom de färgglada husen erbjuder Bo-kaap mycket mer än vad man kan se. Du kommer att kunna gå runt med dina guider och ta bilder när du lär dig om Bo-kaaps historia, dagens kultur och även hennes unika kök.
Bantry Bay, som vilar vid foten av Lions Head-berget, är en av Afrikas mest lyxiga förorter och miljöstudier har också visat att denna förort på bergssidan är vindfri. Tack vare lejonhuvudet skyddar det vackra berget denna förort från Kapstadens sydöstra vindar och ger Bantry Bay över 250 vindfria dagar om året, vilket är en betydande bedrift med tanke på Kapstadens blåsiga klimat.
Clifton har de dyraste villorna i hela Afrika. Förutom sin status som miljonärsby har Clifton också några av de bästa offentliga stränderna nära Kapstaden. De fyra Clifton-stränderna!
15 minuter utanför den berömda stadsskålen i Kapstaden och vid Atlantkusten ligger Camps Bay-förorten. Camps Bay är också känd som Kapstadens Beverly hills. Det är inte många platser i världen som erbjuder sådana vyer som de vi bevittnat här. Du kommer att ha en chans att stanna till vid Maidens vikar, ett stoppområde längs kusten som erbjuder några av de bästa vyerna över just denna förort och hennes namne Camps Bay Beach.
De tolv apostlarna är en del av bergskedjan Kaphalvön med 12 distinkta uddar. Din guide ger dig intressant information om denna berömda bergskedja och låter dig också ta bilder innan resan fortsätter till Houtbukten.
Från Camps bay går turen via Victoria Road, förbi Bakoven förort till Hout Bay stad. Denna vackra stad är också känd för sitt blomstrande fiskesamhälle och din guide kommer att visa dig hamnen där fiskeaktiviteterna bedrivs. Medan du är här kan du hoppa på en båt och ge dig ut på en 40-minuters naturskön resa till en ö som är bebodd av mer än 5 tusen uddpälssälar. Du kommer att se sälarna från båten och om du kanske inte är sugen på att ta båtturen kan du spendera lite tid på att utforska hantverksmarknaden eller till och med ta en 10 minuters promenad till Hout Bay Beach. Medan vi fortfarande är i Hout bay och Hout bays hamn, kommer du att få möjlighet att hoppa på en båt och ge dig ut på en naturskön 40 minuter lång rundresa till ön Duiker som är hem för mer än 5000 Cape pälssälar. Andra alternativ inkluderar en 7 minuters promenad till stranden Hout Bay eller shopping på Hout Bays hantverksmarknad.
Från Hout bays hamn fortsätter turen mot den världsberömda Chapman's peak drive. Uthugget ur Chapmans toppberg mellan 1915 och 1925 för att länka Hout Bay med städerna på södra halvön, är det en ingenjörsmästarklass. Enkelt känd som Chapies lokalt. Den 9 km långa Chapman's peak drive slingrar sig längs gigantiska och branta Chopman's peak berg som dramatiskt faller ner i Atlanten som ett inlandsis. Chapman's peak drive har också cirka 152 kurvor och som ett fingeravtryck får du olika vyer från var och en av dem. Olika utsiktspunkter ger dig möjlighet att stanna, njuta av skönheten och ta bilder.
Bondgårdsbyn Noordhoek ligger i den södra änden av Chapman's peak drive och i hjärtat av den lummiga pensionärsbyn Noordhoek. Det är här man hittar bysteken. En to go-kafé som skryter med det bästa rostade kaffet i området. Förutom kaffe finns det några råa juicer av olika smaker samt små butiker som säljer lokalt tillverkat hantverk och andra fina saker.
Strax innan du vågar dig in i nationalparken Cape of good hope. Du kommer att köra förbi en strutsfarm där vid behov kan göra ett snabbt stopp för att ta bilder av Afrikas största och flyglösa fågel.
Cape Point naturreservat är en 7700 hektar stor park och en del av Capes blomsterrike. Med över 8000 olika växtarter och 70 procent av dem är endemiska. Detta är världens överlägset rikaste blomsterrike och också en extraordinär hotspot för biologisk mångfald. Cape point nationalpark är också hem för Cape point-fyren samt Cape of good hope. Besökare kan också förvänta sig att möta vilda djur här.
Maned med grovt vatten, en oländig kustlinje, ett rikt djurliv och en lång historia av blodbad såväl som livsförändrande prestationer. Godahoppsudden är en enorm turistattraktion. Även om det bara var den sydvästraste punkten av Afrika, var Cape of good hope känd av tidiga sjömän som Afrikas hörn på grund av dess utmärkta navigationshjälp som ett landmärke. Det var härifrån sjömännen noterade att deras resor hade börjat ta en sväng österut när de seglade från väster till fjärran öster. Du kommer att ha möjlighet att ta en valfri vandring upp till toppen av Cape of good hope samt ta ett foto med förmodligen den mest kända skylten i landet. På skylten står det "Välkommen till det goda hoppets udde!" och är även inskriven med The Cape of good hopes koordinater.
Från Cape of good hope fortsätter turen till Cape point och där en asfalterad gränd från Cape point-parkeringen tar dig drygt 300 meter till den 3:e äldsta fyren i landet vilket ger fantastiska vyer och fotografier. Cape Point-fyren, som lanserades 1860, avvecklades dock 1919, eftersom nya bevis visade att sjömän inte kunde se den i molniga förhållanden, så en ny fyr på en lägre höjd byggdes. En bergbana är tillgänglig på egen bekostnad om du inte är på humör att gå.
Boulders beach är en av Afrikas enda tre pingvinkolonier på fastlandet. Att köra förbi utan att besöka denna berömda pingvinkoloni är förräderi! Här kommer du att gå på strandpromenaden och se den utrotningshotade afrikanska pingvinen på mycket nära håll.
Simons stad fick sitt namn efter en nederländsk guvernör på udden på 1600-talet som fann denna stad som en lästrand på vintern. Den viktorianska staden är hem för några av de färskaste skaldjurs- och fiskrestaurangerna i Kapstaden. Detta är också samma stad som den sydafrikanska flottan kallar hem.
Kalk bay röstades fram som en av de 12 coolaste platserna i världen att bo på! Detta är Sydafrikas äldsta semesterort och har också en eurocentrisk utsikt. Några av de bästa restaurangerna i Kapstaden finns här. Konstgallerier, kaféer, kubanska cigarrbarer och små butiker dominerar också huvudgatan. Invånarna i denna pittoreska stad får också njuta av att se södra högvalar från bekvämligheten av deras vardagsrum!
Muizenberg-stranden är en välkänd surfstrand. De berömda färgglada omklädningsstugorna på stranden gör också fantastiska foton. Förutsatt att vi hinner och trafikflödet är rimligt kommer vi att kunna ha det sista fotostoppet här innan resan går vidare till Kapstaden för ridån. Observera att stoppet vid Muizenbergs strand är beroende av tid och normalt trafikflöde.

If you want a well organised, highly enjoyable private tour of the Cape Peninsula area, then look no further. Cape Archive are the best out there. When planning our trip to Cape Town we wanted to book a private day tour for 2 people. There are plenty online, but when we contacted them, no response. How can you risk sending money to people who wont respond to emails? When I contacted Cape Archive, I got a quick response with a clear outline of what they could offer. They answered all my queries and sent a detailed quote, identifying all costs. All very professional and reassuring throughout. They contacted us again the day before the tour to confirm all the details. The tour itself was exceptional. Our guide picked us up from the hotel and drove us in a very comfortable car. She was friendly, knowledgeable, had a great sense of humour and was flexible, adjusting the itinerary to meet our needs. You could not ask for more. We had a great day thanks to Cape Archive and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

With only a 2 day stop on a world cruise we needed to choose our tour wisely.After reading the reviews we knew this was the one for us.And yes it lived up to all expectations. It can be quite difficult finding a tour that caters for a wheelchair user but our tour guide put in 110%.We learnt so much about South Africa of old and present, and stopped at the most amazing places. We paid approximately $322 for our 2 person private day tour. We booked with this company because the other (very well rated) company we had booked with first was not responding to our inquiries. Any time I sent a message to this company (in particular, Junior) they responded to me in less than 24-hours with clear information. So I cancelled the other company and booked with these guys and very glad I did so. They messaged me on WhatsApp and email and I knew things were arranged. When we arrived at the cruise port, our driver was waiting for us in a large, excellent condition mini-van where we had TONS of room to spread out and be comfortable. We left bright and early and proceeded on our approximately 9-hour full day, inclusive of sit down lunch overlooking the ocean. Our guide was incredibly friendly and not only gave us great historical and cultural information but also opened doors for us and asked for our input on things, so this really felt very private and luxurious. You will need some local currency unless you buy the "park pass all inclusive" version of this tour (we did not).....although you won't need as much physical currency as the tour description implies because some of the sites REQUIRE you to pay with credit card.....so I ended up having more currency than needed. Other than that small minor communication issue, this tour was AMAZING and very convenient for people returning or starting a cruise because they picked us up right at the port and then dropped us right at the airport at the end of the day (with our bags safely and securely stored in the vehicle). The sites were excellent and the nice thing of private is you can go as quick/ slow as you particular interest is. The lunch was at a tourist style restaurant overlooking the ocean with tablecloth seating and table service.....food quality was high, alcohol cost extra, and the service was a little slow but no harm. Overall, we would definitely do this again and recommend to all.

Private tour is the best for this tour as there are many things to see and you can choose which ones you want to stay longer at and which ones you would like to stay shorter at without worrying about what other people want to do which might not align with your choices.

We enjoyed an action-packed day touring the Cape of Good Hope and the surrounding areas. The itinerary was thoughtfully designed to help us see as much as possible in a short period of time. Our guide, Xochitle, was highly knowledgeable, personable, and helpful. If you are short on time in Cape Town or a first-time visitor looking to get a lay of the land, this is a great option. We did get a case of food poisoning from the lunch restaurant (I see from other reviews that other travelers shared a similar experience), proceed with caution when eating lunch.

Danson was an excellent guide; both engaging and thoroughly knowledgeable. Conversational both about Cape Town and South Africa in general, but also the Cape of Good Hope, the history, and even the penguins (being a major in Marine Biology he was able to give detailed explanations rather than 'basic' knowledge). This told when we constantly had other tourists coming and asking him questions which he gratiusly answered. Danson was also kind enough to step away during lunch, even though we were more than happy to sit together and have a chat, and he managed the balance between talk, knowledge, and quiet amazingly well throughout a busy, but wonderful day. Would love to return and would happily do it all again.

Good full-day tour with varied experiences. Please take the boat trip to the seals. The penguins a fun experience. Beautiful nature and especially out at Cape of Good Hope.
