Tyvärr finns den nedre glaciären inte längre, men själva kanjonen frodas nu som ett populärt resmål för en unik sensorisk promenad genom sina exponerade klippgallerier och tunnlar. Det forsande vattnet rinner fritt från bergen in i floden Lütschine nedanför, vilket ibland orsakar en plötslig vindrus genom kanjonen och ett snabbt temperaturflöde när ljusstrålar reflekteras längs de branta väggarna.

After the canyon swing, I was incredibly happy and felt free. I overcame a personal limit and was proud of myself. Before the jump, the cliffs scared me, but afterwards that feeling had almost disappeared. I was also glad that I already knew the guide from bungee jumping—that gave me additional security. 😀

We went canyoning and canyon swinging on consecutive days. Both experiences were exactly as advertised. The guides were pleasant and the whole operation was well run. Of course it was Switzerland, so it was pricey!

If you’re looking for an adrenaline rush this is it! A leap of faith once you step off the platform. Trust in the ropes ;-) You’re guide is a pro who triple checks your equipment at the base and at the platform. If you’re afraid of heights, a means to conquer your fears.
