Om du vill ha en rundtur som tar dig till alla de viktigaste platserna i den brittiska och amerikanska sektorn på D-Day Normandies landningsstränder och vill boka individuella platser, då är det här turen för dig! Börjar vid en lämplig timme, denna turné är utformad för att du ska kunna äta frukost på ditt hotell innan du möter din guide vid turnéns avgångspunkt i centrala Bayeux. Väl ombord kommer du att transporteras i en modern luftkonditionerad skåpbil/buss för att besöka de viktigaste platserna i Gold & Omaha-sektorerna. Du kommer att ha varaktiga minnen från ditt besök, inklusive promenader på den vackra Normandie amerikanska kyrkogården.

Vi kör gärna enligt schemat och om du inte är vid avgångsplatsen vid den annonserade boardingtiden så åker vi. Det kommer att finnas andra ombord som har anlänt enligt önskemål och vi vill inte påverka deras upplevelse. Om du kommer sent måste du ta en taxi på egen bekostnad för att hinna med turnén. Vi rekommenderar starkt att du kommer tidigt till turnén eftersom ingen återbetalning kommer att övervägas om du missar tjänsten.
Gold Beach attackerades av brittiska styrkor på D-dagen. Deras mål var att flytta västerut och fånga Arromanches och ansluta sig till amerikanska styrkor som landade vid Omaha. Flytta österut för att ansluta till styrkor som landar vid Juno Beach och för att flytta inåt landet och fånga den medeltida staden Bayeux.
Arromanches valdes som platsen för Mulberry B Artifical Harbour; mer känd som port Winston efter Churchill. Vi kommer att visa de imponerande resterna av detta fantastiska byggprojekt och förklara hur betydelsefullt detta var för att besegra tyskarna i Normandie.
Denna imponerande pistolbatteriposition är den enda positionen längs Atlantikmuren i detta område av Frankrike som fortfarande har vapnen på plats. Vi kommer att utforska platsen tillsammans och du kommer att lära dig om hur den byggdes, hur den fungerade och i slutändan hur den tystades.
Ett av de berömda tyska vapenbatterierna fanns vid Pointe Du Hoc i Normandie. Bestående av 6 långdistansvapenpositioner och många andra betongbunkrar, utgjorde den ett verkligt hot mot allierad sjöfart på D-dagen. Eftersom detta batteri låg precis mellan de två amerikanska landningsstränderna hade allierade planerare inget annat val än att slå ut denna position. Här kommer du att höra de otroliga berättelserna om tapperhet som visades av US Army Rangers som var tvungna att ta sig över nästan 100 fot av klippor för att förstöra vapnen.
USA:s 1:a infanteri och 29:e infanteridivisioner, såväl som delar av US Army Rangers, fick i uppdrag att öppna upp 5 utgångspunkter för att starta rörelsen inåt landet. När du hör historierna från din guide kommer du att förstå varför denna strand är känd som "Bloody Omaha". Beroende på tidvattnet kommer du att ha möjlighet att gå på sanden och se stranden från soldaternas perspektiv. Ur denna synvinkel är de höga bluffarna som en gång hade maskingevär avfyrade, väldigt skrämmande.
Den amerikanska kyrkogården i Normandie täcker 172 hektar och är den sista viloplatsen för tusentals tjänstemän och kvinnor. Du kommer att ha tillräckligt med tid att utforska besökscentret innan du tar dig tid att reflektera på kyrkogården.
Minnesmärket ligger nära Ver-sur-Mer som har utsikt över Gold Beach, och innehåller namnen på alla 22 442 soldater som dog på D-dagen och slaget vid Normandie. Du kommer att se en nio fot höga skulpturer av tre laddande infanterister, som väger över ett ton vardera, skapade av skulptören David Williams-Ellis.

Our guide Frédéric was a wealth of knowledge about the D-Day landings and presented the information in an interesting and engaging manner. He clearly has invested much time and energy in creating a thorough program about a complex subject. Thank you Frédéric! The Airborne Museum at Sainte-Mere-Eglise has 5 buildings of mezmering exhibits. It coincides with your lunch break. I suggest you grab a quick bite to eat on the go and immediately start exploring these fantastic exhibits!

Mathieu was a wonderful tour guide. Friendly and extremely knowledgeable of the history of the area and the specific events of WW II that impacted the region. He answered everyone's questions and also informed the group about other events as we drove from site to site. The price was well worth it. The small group tour was much better than a larger one. Good pace of walking. We covered a lot of ground in one full day.

Bayeux Shuttle are a great company to deal with. They made the whole experience easy, interesting and enjoyable. Before the trip they responded quickly to my queries (thank-you Lucie) and they delivered a brilliant one day tour for myself and my American cousin. We actually had four tour guides on our trip(long, but good story). They all displayed great historical knowledge and wanted to make the whole day as interactive and interesting as possible. My cousin is a European history major, he had lots of questions and they were all answered comprehensively 😊. I would definitely recommend using this company and this particular tour was brilliant. A big thank-you to Morgane (lead) and Mathieu, Romarine and Marie, who all took turns at leading at certain times.

Tour carried out by Marie was excellent and more than what we had hoped for and read in previous reviews. She was knowledgeable, interactive, and told us little things that you would not find in textbooks or google. She adapted to our range of questions with many examples and historical gems. I would recommend Bayeux shuttle and in particular Marie to be our guide in this area. She even recommended a good gluten free restaurant that my wife enjoyed which shows her knowledge of what is available in the area.

We took the full day D-day tour. I’m so glad that we took a tour instead of attempting to see it ourselves. There’s so much more value/information/sites when you take the tour. Jordan is incredibly knowledgeable. He gave us nonstop, fascinating strategic information as well as some individual stories of heroism, and was able to answer all of my random questions. Free time for lunch in st mere Église was an added bonus. The amount of time at each stop was perfect. He kept us on schedule. Pick up/drop off was at our hotel (Villa Lara, also highly recommend). Nothing negative to say, highly recommend.!

This was a fantastic full day tour. Great to have a small tour of just eight people. The tour guide Jordan was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and Entertaining. Would highly recommend this tour.

This was a great tour for people of all WWII knowledge levels. I am not a big history buff. I might know slightly more than the average American about the Normandy invasion because my husband is so into WWII, but not much more than average. My husband has a degree in history with a special interest in WWII. He wasn’t sure about doing a tour because he felt like he could guide a tour. But we both really enjoyed it. All the little stories and pointing out the little things like artillery and certain areas that things happened cannot be learned from history books and classes. Having an expert on location is a completely different experience. My husband learned a lot. It was also great to have a local who could drive us right down to a less touristy area on Omaha Beach. Walking on Omaha was one thing my husband really wanted to do because he had an uncle who landed there. We were on a long stretch of beach with maybe 6 other people. It was definitely a hidden gem. And our guide, Rethro, was great. Very knowledgeable and entertaining.
