Vår tur kommer att beskriva ödet för händelser som ledde till skapandet av Blenheim Palace. Dess tillkomst var ingen lätt prestation - huvudarkitekten nekades till och med tillträde för att se sitt färdiga arbete! Det är dock öppet idag för alla att njuta av sin överdådiga interiör och dess vidsträckta trädgårdar, sjöhus och labyrint. Palace entrébiljett värd £ 41 per person ingår i din turné pris. Guidad tur varar 90 minuter +. Vid ankomsten till Blenheim Palace tar din Guide dig på en guidad tur som varar cirka 90 minuter. Du får då tid att besöka andra delar av slottet och trädgården på egen hand. - Vi erbjuder dig möjlighet att antingen möta oss i Oxford för att ta taxi med oss till slottet eller att möta oss i stället på slottet, som ligger cirka en halvtimmes bilresa bort från Oxford City.
- INFO FÖR KÖRARE OCH PARKERING:
- Om du kör, vänligen snälla tillåta 30–60 minuter extra under vilken tid du tror att det tar dig att komma hit. Oxford är INTE bilvänligt och det är överbelastade vägar och svårt att hitta parkeringsplatser .... såvida du inte parkerar vid skylten som är upplagd "park and rides" i utkanten av staden på någon större väg till staden och hoppar på sina bussar till staden Centrum. Park- och åkbussarna går var 15: e eller var 30: e minut och tar allt från 10 till 30 minuter (beroende på trafik) för att nå centrum. Så om du ska köra, antar du att du bör ha som mål att parkera din bil ungefär en timme innan din turné börjar.
- KOLLEKTIVTRAFIK:
- Vi rekommenderar faktiskt istället att använda de mycket snabbare och pålitliga tågtjänsterna, men försök igen att anlända ungefär en timme eller tidigare innan din tur börjar eftersom tåg kan försenas och tåg- och bussstationen ligger cirka 15 minuters promenad från vår mötesplats. Det finns också busstjänsten från London som heter Oxford Tube som går varje halvtimme eller mer, men det kan ta mycket längre tid än den annonserade 105 minuters resetiden. Det släpper dig antingen på High Street Oxford eller Gloucester Green bussstation. Det är snabbare att be om att gå av på High street nära Carfax tower, då är det en 10 minuters promenad till Broad street.

This private tour was much more than advertised. Peter, our incredibly knowledgeable guide, gave us an informative discussion of the Marlboroughs/Churchills over coffee and tea before the actual tour of Blenheim Palace began, providing historical context for our exploration. The tour itself was wonderful, unhurried, and thoroughly enjoyable. After returning to Oxford, Peter even gave us some extra time and pointed out some important sites around the University, including an amazing, ancient, back-alley pub where we finished our day. The trip to Blenheim Place was thoroughly enjoyable, primarily because of our guide Peter. His knowledge of the site, its history, and the surrounding area was outstanding. He answered all our questions and took us through the palace and around the property at a relaxing pace. He was an excellent host. I highly recommend this tour.

We had an outstanding tour with Peter and Rinata (guide -in -training) to Blenheim Palace and beyond. Peter was very knowledgeable about Blenheim and Oxford and was extremely thorough in his commentary. Blenheim history and architecture were just the start of his guidance. It was a very crowded May 26, but Peter navigation was excellent with bus transport, ticket arrangements, and managing to convey information, despite the numerous visitors. We appreciated his thoughtfulness in bringing us a delightful sweet treat. We had time for a cup of tea at Blenheim to go with it! We were given a beautiful book about Blenheim which we both will enjoy reading. Upon returning to Oxford, Peter was so generous with this time. He pointed out more interesting facts about Oxford, took us to the largest (and very fascinating) bookstore and encouraged us to attend Christ Church Evensong, which we did. It was a wonderful suggestion along with a delicious dinner in his recommended Italian restaurant. Our day with Peter was engaging, stimulating, and fun! We would highly recommend his private tour. Excellent tour, superb tour guide-- knowledgeable, informative, and personable. Peter made an extra effort to provide a memorable tour of Blenheim Palace and grounds and the many sights of interest in Oxford. He was insightful while being entertaining. We had a great day on our e-bike tour of the Cotswolds with Cotswolds Bike Tours. Alasdair's colleague, Laura, toured us around to Roman ruins, manor ruins, picturesque villages, churches and a nice lunch spot. Laura had a lot of background information to share at our various stops, which was very educational. The bikes were in excellent condition -- very new. We highly recommend this tour!

I was sceptical initially about visiting another palace or castle in Britain. However, after the visit to Blenheim Palace I have second thoughts now. My wife and I both have Peter our guide to thank. He was not only most knowledgeable of the tour but he went way beyond the norm by making our trip most meaningful and memorable one although this is already the 4th palace/castle we have visited in UK since our arrival in September. Peter was well prepared for the tour and made it simple and most interesting. He even carried an umbrella in the event it rain which it did at the end of the tour. On top of that at the end of the visit, Peter also kindly arranged tea for us and some English goodies to sample in the form of chocolate caramel shortcake and also oatmeal and raisin biscuits at the garden terrace of Bleiheim Palace. It allowed us to truly appreciate the magnificient view of this ?estate. At the end of the paid tour Peter in his own time gave us a quick introduction and run around Oxford so that it will be easier for us when we do our cycle and walking tour of Oxford the next day.
