This was a really interesting literary tour, with lots of stops for writing exercises. We all live such busy lives, but the workshop really focussed on mindfully examining the areas around us (be it burial ground, church or city garden) and using these places as inspiration. Joe was super knowledgeable about the writing craft and the lives of Blake and Defoe, whose gravestones we visited. Although I was the only person on the tour, I didn’t feel like I missed out on much of the group review aspect—indeed, I got to have a one-on-one tour! I would recommend this for anyone who feels like their writing has become isolated and abstract (and therefore needs some real world inspiration) or just if you are a literary nerd like me!
