We had a great afternoon exploring the City of London and 4 iconic pubs yesterday, expertly guided by Tim. His combination of knowledge, wit and humour was the perfect blend and we had enough time in each pub to soak up the atmosphere and history (although we could easily have stayed in Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese all day, such a gem of a pub)! Thanks again!
Brilliant afternoon with Tim our guide Me and hubby really enjoyed the history lesson throughout the guide. Just enough info, not too heavy so you can remember most of the things he told you. Really interesting and characterful pubs Nicely spaced out between the 4 we visited. Enough time to enjoy a drink in each one We ate dinner (Thai) in the last pub which was really nice. Jumped on nearby tube (Temple) and came home very happy 😊
Freddie made this pub tour one of the best parts of our London trip. His knowledge of the history behind each pub was fantastic — he clearly loves what he does, and it showed. But what really stood out was how he brought the group together. Within the first stop, we went from a bunch of strangers to feeling like old friends swapping stories over a pint. Great pace, great stories, and Freddie's personality made the whole night. Highly recommend this tour if you want history with a lot of heart.
Great afternoon tour of 4 historic pubs learning the history of each pub and other city landmarks as we strolled around. Will our guide was funny, knowledgeable and entertaining - recommended beer, cider & gin choices for each pub, which we enjoyed. Relaxed atmosphere, would definitely recommend.
This was a great tour. The pubs were fantastic and Chris was a knowledgeable, funny and patient tour guide. We loved having the bit of history on each pub and the locations in between.
This was a really fun tour and well worth it. Our guide Tim was stellar and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed our time spent. Recommend this for those looking for a fun activity in London.
A great tour to learn about the history of the city and pub culture. Lyndon did a great job at keeping everyone engaged. It was the highlight of our day.
A nice walking tour. Guide was very knowledgeable and provided lots of details.
Our guide, Shadow, did an excellent job with the tour. She is an actual Pub Historian! As she described her journey to finding a subject for her Master’s degree at Cambridge University, you could see her passion about the fascinating history of people and the role that the pub played in their lives, not just about historical buildings. Shadow expertly wove history with funny stories and took us to 4 different historical pubs, explaining not only their history but also about different kinds of drink (cask ales, stout, etc). Shadow was a lovely and informative host….she also helped to make the small group of strangers comfortable with each other so we enjoyed getting acquainted as we sat and enjoyed the drinks that we purchased. We would highly recommend this tour… and Shadow as your guide.
This is definitely the best way to see some of the most historic and memorable pubs in London! We’re so glad we found it.
