Vi börjar turen med att gå genom slingrande gränder i den äldsta delen av staden, de gotiska kvarteren. Medan namnet för oss tillbaka till medeltiden, är poängen att allting började långt innan, under det romerska riket då det fick namnet "Barcino". Namnet var faktiskt mycket längre än så, du kommer att bli förvånad när du lär dig det! Vi kommer att se medeltida palats och kyrkor, de gamla judiska kvarteren, den berömda Barcelonas mest trafikerade marknad, La Boqueria, och naturligtvis några romerska lämningar. Halvvägs av vandringsturen kommer det att finnas tid att koppla av och smaka på några churros doppad i varm choklad. Efter att ha besökt gamla stan tar vi en lunchpaus på en av de bästa tapasrestaurangerna i stan.
Tapas tid!
Promenera längs Passeig de Gràcia, vår Champs Elysees, och fördjupa dig i det modernistiska Barcelonas arkitektoniska skönhet. Beundra de nyckfulla fasaderna på Block of the Discord, särskilt Casa Batllo, som på alla sätt är ett konstverk. Skulle du också vilja besöka Casa Batllos inre? Meddela oss i förväg så ordnar vi det åt dig. Besöket skulle ta cirka 1 timme.
Förvåna dig själv med den vågiga fasaden på Casa Milà aka "La Pedrera", en fantasi i sten och smidesjärn. Gaudís sista byggnad innan han ägnade sig helt åt byggandet av La Sagrada Familia. Skulle du också vilja besöka Casa Batllos inre? Meddela oss i förväg så ordnar vi det åt dig. Besöket skulle ta cirka 1 timme.
Din guide kommer att leda dig genom parken och beskriver det organiska arkitektoniska förhållningssättet till Gaudís verk och kommer att dela med dig historien bakom dess konstruktion som gör den till liv. Du kommer inte att lämnas ensam i parken eftersom din guide inte är licensierad!
Som grädde på moset, för att avsluta turnén, den mest fantastiska attraktionen i stan, och för många den vackraste kyrkan de någonsin sett. Lär dig om kyrkans historia, hur och när den började, vem dess första arkitekt var, ja, det var inte Antoni Gaudi! David’s tour was the highlight of our trip! We were with him for a full day and I don’t feel like it was enough. We had a group of ten, 4 adults and. 6 kids from Louisville, KY. We did a walking tour of the Gothic quarter that really gave us a full perspective on the city, stopped for great local food and drink along the way and then ended the day with Sagrada Família tour. His passion for the city and sharing the culture shown through! Our favorite highlights were the Roman Ruins, conversation over tapas, and finding the Sant Jordi dragons. He somehow kept the right balance of pace and interest for your entire group. Muchas Gracias David! We hope to see you again!

Key takeaway: Must get Nestor as your guide. While tour is a bit pricey, he made it all worthwhile. Unfortunately, we visited Barcelona during one of the rainiest periods in recent history - but it really didn't make a difference as our guide made the city come alive for us. Not only did we get a full Gaudi experience, but the tour of the old city offered a counterpoint to the architect that has grabbed everyone's attention. Also, the lunch spot that Nestor found for us offered the best selection of tapas. Even better: the morning hot chocolate and churros was a delight. The hot chocolate is not like anything you will find in the states - deliciously thick and decadent!

Everything was amazing - I spent along time wondering what was my favourite bit. But I think I loved it all for different reasons - you just have to se it all. David was an amazing guide and gave us the right amount of time and information in all the places. - The world is just such a beautiful place and a david showed us this beauty though his eyes and knowledge ( he also knew all the best places to eat - YUM )

David Chacon was referred to me by a good friend who spent several weeks in Barcelona, so we connected by email with David prior to our trip. David made it a point to be completely connected to us prior to our pickup and we spent the entire day listening to him tell us the history of everything we saw. He speaks perfect English and was so very easy to be with! Our biggest and most memorable of that tour is definitely La Sagrada Familia!!! David gave us a fabulous 10 hour tour with so many highlights of the city. We sampled amazing seafood and other food for lunch. This was the best way to see so much of the beautiful city of Barcelona with such limited time.
