Culturally rich and inspiring!

My trip with my daughter, Aaliyeh, to Bali from 18th – 25th May was very relaxing and refreshing. Driver Gusti from Discova was responsible of our transfers. He drove skilfully through the busy streets and entertained us by giving us a running commentary. He was very polite, cheerful, and pleasant. Widnyana Mijil from Discova met us on our first morning to arrange tours for us. I was very impressed with his professionalism and time management skills. Throughout our stay I communicated via WhatsApp with him, and he very promptly replied to me, even very late in the evening although he must have been dealing with many other tourists at the same time. Driver Marianta collected us from the hotel and took us to Denpasar. He shared some stories with us. We found this young man reserved and polite. Driver Made Swastika drove us to Icon Mall, Sanur. He made sure we had his phone number so that we could contact him when we were ready. After that, we stopped at some roadside shops. Made Swastika found a safe place away from traffic to drop us and kept in touch with us via phone to tell us about the meeting place, making sure we did not have to wait out in the heat and humidity. Our guide to Tanah Lot and Kintamani was Edwin, on two long tours. It was lovely to be greeted by this young man dressed in his national attire. Edwin was very knowledgeable, and we were impressed by his enthusiasm. He had in depth knowledge of the temples, cultural shows, wood carving/masks, and batik weaving. While walking through temples and gardens, he made sure we did not fall when going down narrow steps. Edwin's command of English language was impressive. He had a wide range of vocabulary and was able to discuss issues that were not related to Balinese culture or history. We discussed the psychology and philosophy behind each style of learning and teaching a language. Edwin's curiosity is the key to learning as it was portrayed by his quickly checking Google to verify the name of certain plants when asked a question. Driver Sapta drove us to Tanah Lot. He drove skilfully and let the guide, Edwin, do his job. Driver Adnyana drove us to Kintamini. He confidently drove through uphill narrow and winding roads. On our final day, Adnyana took us shopping. He suggested two air-conditioned malls where locals shop for clothes so that we did not have to spend time haggling over prices in the street shops in Denpasar. The malls were a wonderful place to pick up clothes and souvenirs. He also took us to Beachwalk Mall and Kuta Beach. He did the job of both a driver and a guide! Edwin, the guide, and all the drivers were extremely pleasant and polite. They came at least 30 minutes before our scheduled times, despite this none of them rushed us to leave earlier than the appointed time. All the cars were in great condition, air-conditioned and we were provided with chilled bottled water. Drivers and guides should not make tourists feel guilty for having the funds to travel and refrain from asking for tips (only a couple did this). Bali has a service charge and extra tax in the places that tourists shop and eat. We read ‘no tipping’ at the airport. We paid for these tours and times with the drivers, and we trust the money we paid goes down to the people who work on the ground at Discova. Those we mentioned above are the wheels that make the engine run at Discova. We trust they are recognised in the company for how we have appreciated the sincerity of their services. They really did go beyond the call of duty to ensure our trip was safe and enjoyable. We have admired the patience on the roads, the smiling faces, the vibrant offerings, the charming, smiling people. From each one we met we connected through sharing our stories, as this is the most valuable lesson one can learn. We came from New Zealand but are originally from Pakistan. Aaliyeh and I would like to again pass a heartfelt thank you to all at Discova. We sincerely hope this feedback is shared with all those mentioned and that they are commended.

Discova bali

A great service always on time if running late they will let you no .clean and polite.only improvement i would suggest is providing more water on long tours and more comfortable vans on long trips .will use again .

Amazing experience

We had the pleasure of being assisted by Adhi and Gede Subtha who were phenomenal, an absolute pleasure to be taken care of by these wonderful individuals. They were kind, curtious and were knowledgeable. They elevated our experience and with their guidance helped us experience Bali in ways we had not expected.

Airport Transfer

Loving patient Driver
