Orheiul Vechi ("Gamla Orhei") är ett spektakulärt arkeologiskt komplex som ligger cirka 60 km nordost om Chişinău mellan byarna Trebujeni och Butuceni. Denna vackra dal gränsar till floden Răut, är en av landets mest kända turistattraktioner. Panoramaet är hisnande vackert. Det finns flera gamla byggnader från olika perioder. Forntida fästningar som grävts i berget, resterna av en moské och kristna kloster gör platsen till en enastående representant för regionens rika och händelserika historia. Ett litet lokalt museum tillhandahåller all nödvändig information till besökarna.
Curchi-klostret är ett av de mest betydande monumenten i moldavisk arkitektur. Det ligger i Orhei-regionen, 55 km från huvudstaden Chisinau; på höger sida av Vatici-dalen, vid foten av skogen som kallas "Codru". Detta klosterkomplex har en kulturell och religiös historia på två och ett halvt sekel och anses vara den vackraste och mest berömda plats för tillbedjan i Bessarabia. Platsen för Curchi-klostret är av sällsynt prakt tack vare naturen som omger det. Den badar i ett grönt hav och kastar sig i en fantastisk kontrast med sina vita och röda väggar.

A really good tour to beautiful and peaceful locations. Our guide was excellent and knowledgeable. The monastery was highlight. Such stunning surroundings. This is a wonderful way to explore Moldova outside of the capital. A really real ‘must’ for including, in any visit to Chisinau.
Very pleasant visit with my family, our very professional and patient guide. Made us a very complete story about Moldovan history, and showed us well around the village ... The restaurant where have it stopped for lunch was excellent, typical cuisine as well as the very warm setting.
My cousin and I had a wonderful time on our trip to Orhei Vechi. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience! Andrian is incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Moldova and shared fascinating insights about the monasteries we visited. We learned so much and saw some truly beautiful places, especially with the stunning fall foliage. I highly recommend this tour with Andrian!

Very nice drive to make 2 stops to see monasteries. Tour guide went out of his way so I could take a picture of Stephen the Great statue.
My tour guide Tim was excellent! Fluent in English. He is very good at telling traditions and reporting on the country and people. He has a very broad knowledge of the country, culture, economy and much more. The tour was exclusively focused on cultural sites, of which there would be more. No photograph can reflect what you see and experience in person. Monasteries are very well preserved. Hiking trails are well signposted. Pure nature!

Great experience, perfectly designed to see most of what’s to be seen in the area in a condensed timeframe & with comfort. Andrian is very nice, provider a wealth of information of Moldova past & contemporary, and gives plenty of flexibility to enjoy things at your own rhythm. The lunch he recommended was super good and incredible value for money. I’m female, was travelling solo and felt super safe all the time :)
