Besök två vingårdar i den avgränsade regionen Algarve, guidad av vinexpert, och skaffa dig djupgående kunskap om alla aspekter av vinvärlden och processen för vinframställning. Till lunch traditionell portugisisk mat på en typisk restaurang i Silves. Denna historiska stad, som tidigare var huvudstad i det moriska kungariket Algarve, ligger på landsbygden, mellan kusten och bergen i regionen och här kan vi hitta en mycket traditionell portugisisk och algarviansk gastronomi med influenser från både havet och inlandet.

Ligger norr Portimão, redan i Silves län. Det är en exklusiv vinodlingsproduktion, den som ligger längst norrut i regionen, precis vid början av Monchique-bergen. Ägs av ett portugisisk-franska par som träffades på Bordeaux, där han föddes och växte upp omgiven av vinpåverkan. De flyttade i regionen i början av seklet för att starta detta projekt från noll. I sluttningarna av Odelouca River Vlley planterade de sin vingård och byggde sin lilla men välutrustade vingård, som också är värd för ett smakrum, fatrum och laboratorium.
Beläget på norra gränsområdet Portimão och Alvor. Med det stora berget Monchique, som dominerar utsikten när vi är på vingårdarna, har denna stora fastighet även odlingsområden med korkträd, vetefält och apelsinträd. I familjen sedan 1865 och producenter av druvor från en lång tid, byggde denna gård sin moderna vingård 1999 och var de första som producerade certifierade ursprungsbeteckningar i Algarve. På esplanaden, i butiken eller vid ekfaten syns traditionen från denna familjegård.

Despite a cloudy day, this wine tour was a great all day experience! We chose the lunch inclusion over the Silves city tour and happy we did! The wine and food we got to experience was excellent (and stories behind them). We visted the town of Silves on a different day. The two wineries we visited were different - each delivering their own twist on taste and quality. We really enjoyed the reds at Quinta do Frances, and in particular the Touriga Nacional. A full bodied red that is unique. The syrah was excellent as well. Great views from their patio as well. The second winery was the Convento do Paraiso which had beautiful whites and roses - in a beautiful old mill by the water (former convent). We were impressed by our guide Fabio (who owns the business) and the sharing of local information, history and family traditions. He was able to share many of the food creations and/or items we had at the lunch - the pan fried black pork was outstanding! The goat cheeses are fantastic as well. We went on this tour with another couple and a family member. We are experienced wine enthusiasts and the other three were "new" to the wine making area. Despite two signifcantly different backgrounds, Fabio did a great job making it all work (more in depth at time and providing a great overview for all to enjoy).

A fabulous way to see the beautiful hillsides of Alentejo, while learning about the local history, wineries, and their farming practices. We learned so much about the growing process, the types of grapes, and the opportunity to see the production process. Fabio is a treasure trove of the local stories and made for a wonderful day. This tour allowed us to interact with the local people, enjoy delicious food, and offer a special experience.

We had a wonderful experience, it was one of our favorite parts of our trip to Portugal! Fabio, our tour guide, picked us up and returned us to our condo after the tour, and he was incredible He was very friendly and knowledgeable, not only about the wine but the area we were visiting. We loved the fact that it was just the 4 of us in our group with him. The wines at each winery were very enjoyable, the lunch spot was incredible and the food fantastic. Thank you for the wonderful day!

A great excusrsion, I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Algarve. A visit to a small producer and then a visit to a larger commercial vineyard. Then a beautiful lunch in Silves. Fabio is an excellent guide, he has great knowledge of the area and the viticulture in the region.

A great day of wine and wineries followed up by a hearty meal in the mountain town of Monchique. Fabulous wines and food. Fabio was a great host and went into alot of detail about grape growing, harvesting and wine production in the region. Highly recommended!

Our wine tour day with Fabio was excellent. It was time well spent to see the area, learn about the terroir, local varietals and influences on the wine in this region. Among numerous wine tours we have had in different countries, this was one of the best for Fabio’s level of knowledge (and ability to share it) when it comes to the wine making process and local industry.
