Caleb Clayton was a great guide.
This was a great and fun experience. Our guides were not only worried about our safety which is number one but made it fun!
A great back country experience and I highly recommend! Guides were Niko and Victoria - both did an excellent job. Niko was the lead guide and had an uncanny ability to find every single mud puddle out there!! With respect to our lunch - we were thinking a sub sandwich and a bag of chips. WOW is all I can say. Multiple course meal and everything was mouth watering. First time I’ve ever had vegetarian chili - delicious!!
Jonathon and the rest of the gang were awesome and enthusiastic! So helpful in making sure everyone had a great time. The only issue would be with what someone else mentioned and that would be washing the windshields in between rides would make a huge difference. It was impossible to see out of the front of the machine, which made it more difficult for driving and to enjoy.
The side by side was great, guide was great, meal was great. If someone is unfamiliar with side by sides or just wanted to ride one, I'm sure they would have a better time than we did. We PRIMARILY wanted to enjoy scenery and possibly see wildlife (no one can be blamed if we didn't see wildlife, I understand). But the trails we went on were through very thick areas where you couldn't really see anything but the trail in front of you. We stopped at one 'scenic overlook', and in a dry creek bed. But in a two-three hour 'tour', we mostly just saw the trail in front of us. BTW, I have my own side by side at home, so driving/riding one is no big deal to me. Anyway, the tour outfit and equipment were great, but they definitely oversold the 'adventure tour' aspect as we just rode on some well-traveled trails.
They hadn’t had rain in awhile and the trail was so dusty that if it weren’t for tail lights we couldn’t see the vehicle in front of us. It was also terribly rough. I know we were in rugged terrain but it was ridiculous. When there was a chance to stop for a nice photo opportunity we rode right past it. All in all not a very good experience. The people working there were great. No problem with them, just the actual experience.
I'm very surprised at all the positive ratings for this excursion, this was one of the worst excursions I've ever been on. There should be a warning included in the explanation section of the ride. The ride is not just bumpy, it's extremely bumpy and dusty. The leader was leading our group at such a fast speed, we couldn't keep up. The atv in front of us had to stop because the passenger's phone bounced out of the vehicle and she had to look for it. The leader never stopped or slowed down, so we had to speed over rocky, bumpy, and large pot holes to catch up. We couldn't see a thing because of all the dust being kicked up. After the ride they used an air hose to blow off all the dust foff of us from head to toe. We're in our 70's and had no idea how rough this ride was, and many of the other riders felt the same way. The leaders were very nice, but very young and had a blast driving us around, with no idea how negatively this was affecting the rest of us.
Great trip. Our guides Caleb and Ondrej were great! The food was Delicious and plentiful., an 8-course meal!
Super fun and we got to see alot of sites. Victoria was sweet and accommodating and took us to see some beautiful scenery. The young gentleman from Bulgaria was also informative and accommodating. We learned alot from him.
Excellent way to spend a few hours while in Denali! John our guide was accommodating and knowledgeable about the area. Side by sides handled the rocky terrain well. The dinner was fabulous and was more than either of us could handle. The views from the mountain top were spectacular and driving thru Dry Creek was a fun experience. You will have a great time. ( Note: This is not an adventure-fueled experience but a nice, bumpy ride through the valleys and mountain).
