Atens Akropolis är ett gammalt citadell som ligger på en klipphäll ovanför staden Aten och innehåller resterna av flera gamla byggnader av stor arkitektonisk och historisk betydelse, den mest kända är Parthenon. Ordet akropolis kommer från de grekiska orden ἄκρον och πόλις.
Parthenon är ett före detta tempel på Atenska Akropolis, Grekland, tillägnat gudinnan Athena, som folket i Aten betraktade som sin beskyddare. Bygget började 447 f.Kr. när det atenska riket var på toppen av sin makt.
I antik grekisk arkitektur är en propylaea, propylea eller propylaia en monumental inkörsport. Det prototypiska grekiska exemplet är propylaea som fungerar som ingången till Akropolis i Aten.
Athena Nikes tempel är ett tempel på Akropolis i Aten, tillägnat gudinnan Athena Nike. Templet byggdes omkring 420 f.Kr. och är det tidigaste helt joniska templet på Akropolis.

Approximate French and not much depth in historical accounts... but friendly ....

Beautiful. I think he’s the only one who does this in French. Reasonable price. You cannot visit the acropolis without a guide. No way. You get your money's worth for it. Our guide was superb explained well and his information was all true. I recommend 100%.
