The road south out of Vlore climbs to a little over a thousand metres through pine forest and comes over the Llogara pass to one of the great views in the Balkans: the Ionian a kilometre straight below, and the Riviera running away to the south. What is the Llogara pass?
A mountain pass of about 1,027 metres on the road south from Vlore, inside Llogara National Park, where the pine forest ends abruptly at a cliff above the Ionian Sea. It is the gateway to the Albanian Riviera and the single best viewpoint on the Albanian coast.
How much is paragliding in Vlore?
Tandem flights from the Llogara pass cost around €129 and last roughly fifteen to twenty-five minutes depending on the air, landing on the beach at Palase or Dhermi far below. Flights are weather-dependent and usually run morning or late afternoon.
Can you hike in Llogara National Park?
Yes — trails run through the black pine forest to Qorre peak at about 2,000 metres, a full-day walk with the whole Riviera laid out below. Guided hiking day trips from Vlore cost €40–€70 including transport.
