This tour was so much fun! Valerio was great and he was very knowledgeable about the island and its history surrounding the art of glass blowing. Getting to make my own bead with Monica was the greatest experience…she was a beautiful woman with so much talent! Definitely worth it!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review, Christine! It was a real pleasure to show you around Murano and share the island's fascinating glassmaking traditions. I'm delighted that you enjoyed learning about the history of Murano and its artisans. I'll be especially happy to pass your kind words on to Monica. She is indeed incredibly talented, and creating your own glass bead is a unique way to connect with this centuries-old craft. I'm glad it became such a memorable part of your visit. Thank you again for joining the tour, and I hope to welcome you back to Venice and Murano one day! Warm regards, Valerio
Such a great experience! Valerio was kind, funny, patient and knowledgeable. We started the experience with a tour through a stunning (and air conditioned!) high-end glass gallery before walking over to an open studio to watch glass be blown by a skilled team of artisans. The highlight of the tour for us was a visit to Monica’s lamp work glass jewelry studio where my brother and I were guided through the process of how to make a unique glass bead using raw materials and a flame. It was so much fun, and it is a souvenir I will hang on to forever! Great that this part is optional though, as my parents only wanted to observe. Furthermore, a 2 hour tour is the perfect amount of time to learn a bit of history and take in the beautiful scenery of Murano. The tour went at a good pace Valerio kindly recommended a great restaurant on the island where we sat to cool off for a bit before heading over to Burano. Additionally, he helped us with a few expert recommendations for the rest of our trip. Thank you so much!! And thank you for not being pushy with selling! We bought a few things anyways, though there was no pressure to do so at all.
Thank you so much Monica for your wonderful review! It was truly a pleasure meeting you and your family in Murano. I’m very happy you enjoyed the experience with Monica in her lampwork studio — creating your own glass bead is definitely something special and unique to take home from Venice! I’m also glad your parents enjoyed observing the process comfortably, and that the pace of the tour worked well for everyone. Thank you as well for appreciating my approach. I always try to offer authentic experiences with local artisans, without pressure or tourist traps, so your words really mean a lot to me. I hope you had a fantastic time in Burano and during the rest of your trip in Italy. You and your family are always welcome back to Venice and Murano! Warm regards, Valerio
A real insider tour where you’ll find glass in practical but super beautiful interior decoration elements. Our tour guide, Valerio, is very much knowedgeable and very caring. It’s the 2 hours packed with real value of money.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m really glad you enjoyed discovering Murano from an insider’s perspective. It means a lot to hear that the experience felt both authentic and valuable. I hope to see you again for another unique experience in Venice!
If you want a truly unique Murano experience, this is it. Valerio gave us a breathtaking VIP tour of the Barovier and Tosa showroom that made other stops feel ordinary. The hands-on bead making with Monica was a fantastic, personal touch. It’s "teenage boy approved," too—my sons were genuinely impressed, which is no small feat!
Hi Sheryl, Thank you so much for your kind words—this truly means a lot to me. I’m really glad you enjoyed the experience and that it felt special and different from the usual Murano tours. And I’m especially happy to hear that the bead-making workshop with Monica was a hit—getting a “teenage boy approved” stamp is probably the best review I could hope for! 😊 It was a pleasure spending time with you and your family, and I hope to welcome you back to Venice (and Murano) for another adventure in the future. Warm regards, Valerio deTourist

Amazing knowledgeable and likable tour guide with inside info into the industry and a perfect mix of stops on the tour. Very stop was different and inspiring and I love that we were able to participate in the activity. Don’t miss out on making the bead! Plan a little time afterward for lunch close by also so you have time for your bead to cool down. We even got a sneak peak of a new exhibit. Thank you again for the experience!!!
Thank you so much for this wonderful review! I’m really happy you enjoyed the mix of stops and that the lampwork experience made your visit to Murano even more special. Making your own bead is always a memorable part of the tour! Thank you also for mentioning the cooling time — great tip for future guests. It was a pleasure showing you a few hidden corners (and that sneak peek!). Hope to welcome you back to Venice or Murano soon! — Valerio deTourist
This was an amazing tour and Valerio was such a great guide! He was very accommodating and helpful with our group, as well as knowledgeable and entertaining! My daughter had a great time with Monica making her own glass bead to take home. Definitely a one of a kind experience!

Valerio was the best tour guide! He was very accommodating with our group as one of us had mobility issues. He was also knowledgeable and funny…he made the tour an unforgettable experience. And Monica was very sweet with our whole group!

It was a very informative tour. The demonstration was especially interesting and making a bead gave a new appreciation to the art.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m really glad you enjoyed both the demonstration and the hands-on experience of creating your own glass bead. Murano’s lampworking tradition is truly special, and it’s wonderful to hear that the workshop gave you a deeper appreciation for this art. I hope your bead will always remind you of your time here. Grazie and hope to see you again in Venice! Valerio deTourist
We met Valerio at the Murano Faro lighthouse with three other friendly participants. He began by providing an engaging historical overview before guiding us to an exclusive display of glass art and impressive chandeliers, showcasing the potential beyond vases and cups. Highlights included visiting a the Wave glas factory to watch authentic production (not a staged demo), followed by a lovely lampworking demo + workshop with Monica that contrasted nicely with our own technique background. Valerio also arranged a stop at the Effetre Murano factory we really wanted to see since we used to source our lamp working rods there and was super helpful with logistics before the trip and tips afterward. An awesome, memorable experience—highly recommended.
Thank you so much for your detailed and wonderful review! It was a real pleasure to share Murano’s glass heritage with you, from the historical background to the behind-the-scenes visits at the Wave factory and Effetre. I’m glad you enjoyed both the professional demonstrations and Monica’s lampworking workshop, and that we could include the special stops you were hoping for. Your enthusiasm made the tour even more enjoyable for me as well. I hope to welcome you back to Venice for another experience in the future! Best regards, Valerio deTourist
