A Birthday to Remember

We really enjoyed this tour! It was my wife’s birthday, and our guides surprised her with a shot of tequila. Lucha libre is such a unique experience—we couldn’t stop screaming and cheering. Just go and experience it!

Great tour guide, the...

Great tour guide, the walk to the arena itself was about 10 minutes from the restaurant. The event itself was great also.

Just try it!

If you haven’t been, just go once for the experience! Thats it. Would I do it again… maybe not! But worth the one time experience.

Lucha Libre

Great experience. You arrive at a restaurant, where they give you your drink, you can order food off their menu but it is not mandatory. The they explain to you Lucha Libre history. Gather the crowd and walk you to the stadium. You are not allowed to bring any drinks into the stadium, they have concession stand where you can buy food and drinks. Lucha libre is meant to be entertaining and require an audience’s involvement. Would definitely do it again and again. After it is all over you are free to go.

Best tour!!!

This is a must-do tour if you’re visiting Mexico! We didn’t have very high expectations at first, but it completely exceeded them. From the warm welcome to the beautiful venue, everything was excellent. Our guide shared fascinating insights about Mexican wrestling, and the final tips he gave us helped us enjoy the show to the fullest. Without a doubt, this is a high-energy experience that we would highly recommend to anyone visiting Mexico.

Pantomime in lycra

This tour is really just to avoid hassle buying the tickets. It doesn’t add anything to the actual wrestling experience

Absolutely fantastic experience!

Everything was great from start to finish. The welcome, the intro to lucha libre, and the staff made us feel comfortable right away. The seats were great, and the show itself exceeded our expectations. The energy in the arena, the crowd reactions, and the excitement of every match made the whole experience so much fun. We found ourselves cheering, booing, and getting completely caught up in the action. If you’re visiting Mexico City, this is definitely something you should experience

What an incredible experience!

The energy in the arena was electric from start to finish. Even if you’re not a wrestling fan, the atmosphere, crowd interaction, athleticism, and entertainment make this a must-do in Mexico City. The fans were passionate, the wrestlers were amazing, and the entire event felt like one big celebration. Definitely one of the highlights of my trip!

Terrible

Warning: do not book this experience through Viator. Lucha Libre is a must-see but.., 1. The “ad” says to arrive 30 min before the event at a location less than a block away. The day of the event, we got a text to go a few blocks further away 30 min earlier. We had to change our dinner plans. 2. The meeting location was a horrible restaurant with mostly pork rinds and fried grasshoppers on the menu. The service was slow and we were aggressively pushed to buy souvenirs. This was a total cash grab! 3. We arrived at the venue, just as the event started, but because the tickets were all screwed up for others in our group, we ended up in late. 4. We had the worst seats! (and we saw other attendees from our group having to do the same thing! We were right on the main aisle, where the beer vendor stood literally in front of us for the first two matches. I finally got up to ask the venue staff to help move us. They were gracious enough to do so, but we lost the ability to watch more than half of the event. I highly recommend people attend Lucha Libre, just by buying tickets directly through Ticketmaster. The nonsense we had to endure through the Viator people made the event not much fun. As a sidenote. My husband and I have attended quite a few excursions and experiences through Viator and other companies. This is the first negative review I’ve ever left.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We respect your opinion, but we would like to provide some additional context, as our understanding of what happened differs in several important ways and we have documentation to support it. 1. Regarding the change of meeting point, due to repair work in the area of the original location, we had to move the meeting to an alternative location just a short walk away. We informed you of this change via WhatsApp the day before the event and, when we did not receive a response, we sent the information again by text message around midday on the day of the event, approximately seven hours before the scheduled meeting time. You replied confirming that you had received the update and mentioned that you would try to arrive as soon as possible. At no point did you express any concerns about the change. Had you done so, we would have gladly offered alternative solutions so that you would not have had to adjust your dinner plans. 2. As for the meeting point, it is indeed a restaurant. Our experience includes a welcome drink and, as an additional courtesy, we usually offer guacamole with a small serving of chapulines (grasshoppers) on the side for anyone interested in trying a traditional Mexican snack. The restaurant’s menu is not part of the experience unless a traveler specifically asks to see it, which was the case here. We also make it clear that any additional food or drinks are at the guest’s own expense. We are sorry if the restaurant’s service did not meet your expectations when ordering food; however, the restaurant operates independently and its service is not part of our experience. 3. Regarding the claim that guests were aggressively pushed to buy souvenirs, we would like to clarify that all purchases are completely optional. While the restaurant displays items such as clothing, sunglasses, jewelry, and other accessories, guests are free to browse them or ignore them. We simply let travelers know that if they are interested in any item, they can ask the restaurant staff for assistance. 4. Regarding your arrival at Arena Mexico, the group arrived at 7:25 PM, before the event’s scheduled start time of 7:30 PM. We also used an entrance with shorter lines to help everyone enter more quickly. You and your husband were among the first people in the group to enter the venue, meaning you were inside before the show began. As for the issue involving other guests, it was unrelated to your reservation and did not affect your entry, as your tickets were issued separately and did not depend on anyone else in order to access the event. 5. Finally, regarding the seats, as you mentioned, they were located next to the Arena’s central aisle, which places them in one of the central lower-level sections of the venue. This is considered one of the best areas in the arena because it offers a central, direct, and close view of both the ring and the stage. We are sorry that a vendor may have temporarily blocked part of your view during portions of the event. However, vendors are part of the arena’s regular operations and are outside of our control. In situations like this, guests can always politely ask the vendor to move so their view is not obstructed. While we respect all opinions, we also believe it is important to clarify points that can be objectively verified and that do not match what occurred during the experience. Reviews are valuable for both travelers and operators, which is why we believe they should be shared responsibly and reflect what actually happened.
