Aqui, vou oferecer-lhe uma introdução histórica a Toledo, contando-lhe a sua importância como capital do Reino Visigodo e a sua fascinante mistura de culturas. Aproveitaremos esta praça para nos situarmos no contexto da cidade medieval e assim preparar o caminho para as seguintes paragens.
De Zocodover caminharemos em direção ao Alcázar de Toledo, uma fortaleza que testemunhou inúmeros acontecimentos históricos, incluindo a Guerra Civil Espanhola. Neste ponto, contarei a vocês sobre sua origem, seu papel defensivo e como evoluiu ao longo dos séculos. Além disso, da esplanada você pode desfrutar de uma espetacular vista panorâmica da cidade.
Neste ponto faremos uma breve parada em frente à Igreja dos Jesuítas, onde explicarei sua arquitetura barroca e sua importância histórica em Toledo. Tal como acontece com o Alcázar, não entraremos no interior, mas conheceremos a história e o simbolismo contido no seu exterior.
Continuamos o nosso passeio em direção à Igreja de Santo Tomé, um notável exemplo da arquitetura mudéjar em Toledo. Famosa por abrigar a famosa obra de El Greco, O Enterro do Senhor de Orgaz, esta igreja é um lugar fundamental para os amantes da arte. Durante a parada contarei a história da igreja, sua origem e o contexto por trás desta obra-prima. Embora não entremos para ver a pintura, o exterior da igreja e a sua relevância histórica são igualmente fascinantes.

Sara is awesome. The tour should be redesigned - likely increased in length to allow for a look inside a few places. Current format provides great historical background and context and some exploration (e.g. “we are now in once was the Muslim quarter”) but I would suggest going inside the Mezquita and going inside the most important synogogue even if it’s just for 10 minutes each before ending with the Cathedral.
