Let’s start out with sending people out in 39° heat with a bus that has no air-conditioning. It made the trip fairly miserable for all of us. The visit to Toledo did not give us enough time to see many of the places I have visited with other tours, especially the Jewish quarter and the Church of the White Mary. We were not given sufficient time to explore the basilica. When we went to Segovia, we were given a guide named Leticia who spoke in a monotone very rapidly and was difficult to understand. Yet, the other guide. Elena was excellent. Whereas we’re given ample time to have a wonderful lunch when we arrived in Segovia, We were not given sufficient time to explore the Basilica nor the Alcazar in Segovia. The trip needs at least one to two more hours to make it an acceptable tour by any standard. If I were Viator I would exclude IBE Tours from my list. They also need to have a different option of ear bud for people with hearing aids.
My tour guide Deyvis was amazing! He gave us an amazing tour. However I was very disappointed with the bus. The AC wasn’t working and it was extremely hot!! It was a long ride and this was torture !!!
Elena was very knowledgeable and organized. Definitely worth seeing these cities through this tour. It is a lot of walking with a lot of hills.
Overall, great experience except for two things. The host gave a lunch tame close to 3 pm and secondly, she took us to a remote (expensive) location for lunch at Segovia while many options are available close to attractions. Moreover, we had 1.5 h free time in Toledo between 11:00 am to 12:30 pm and yes she wanted us to wait for lunch till we reached Segovia. This was not a great guidance and service to travelers which included many seniors.
The bus was really hot and ac was not working. The guide spoke both English and Spanish but should complete her statements in one language. Hard to understand the way she was breaking this. The alcazar of Segovia was closed, and the tour company should notify it before as it’s a planned closure so travelers can choose a different date.
Bus was not first class. When first arriived in town, we had 15 minutes to get coffee and go to the bathroom. This wasn't enough time as our bus was full. The restaurant was ready for us. I ordered a cappuccino and became ill. In town, the group split up into 2 groups, english and Spanish. The in town guide gave us the incorrect meeting time of 12:40 not 11:40. The meeting point, after the cathedral, for those not going was the McDonalds square, "the only McDonalds in town. Not true. I googled and 3 different ones came up. I finally found the correct one at 11:30, and waited. At 11:45, I decided to meet the bus where we got dropped off but got lost. I contacted Viator and received a call immediately from our tour guide saying they had to leave. The bus had to leave and rightly so. I asked her the best way to return to Madrid, she said bus. That's what I did. I did leave my backpack on the bus. Our guide gave me the approximate return time and said I should meet them, which I did. Overall,
The tour is nice, but guide clearly does not want to be there.
The day involves about 5 hours of bus travel but the 2 towns are definitely worth visiting. Our guide Deyvis was informative and kept the day running smoothly, including pointing out restroom opportunities and a local restaurant to taste some of the local specialties.
A fabulous experience, very informative and a great place to visit. Some equipment was not working very well so a little bit hard to hear.
The audio didn't work in Segovia. It was very good in Toledo but the guides all had the same Chanel in Segovia which caused problems. Our guide spoke too fast with disjointed English so it was very had to follow (understand).
