This tour took us through the best parts of the Forum and Palatine Hill. We walked through the Colosseum at our own pace. Our guide, Tibero, was great. Super knowledgeable and very funny.
The tour guides are not allowed inside the Colosseum.. We were told that we were going to get a refund and still ah e not received it.
The tour was great and so informative! Humi was a great tour guide. We enjoyed hearing about the colosseum and the Roman forum. The view from Palatine Hill was amazing!
It was an incredible experience, Tatiana was my guide and she is wonderful. I have always dreamed of coming to Rome, and it was so beautiful to learn all the history; it made it magical. Thank you, Tatiana
Excellent guide! She made me feel many emotions, I loved it, highly recommended!👍🏼✨
Our guide Tatiana explained the tour very well; she was very kind, has a very pleasant and fun way of explaining, we highly recommend her, we loved taking the tour with her, she told us a lot of history about the place, my family and I loved it.
Booked and paid $284.14 for a "premium" Colosseum tour advertised with arena floor access and an 8:30am guided entry. None of that happened. Arena floor access was cancelled, our start time was unilaterally pushed to 11:30am, and our guide didn't even come inside the Colosseum with us — we were left to wander on our own. Viator currently advertises a standard Colosseum/Forum/Palatine Hill tour for $53/person. I paid more than five times that for "premium" features that were never delivered. When I disputed it, Viator's final offer was a 30% refund — essentially telling me it's fine to charge premium prices for a basic, self-guided product. I've had to escalate to a credit card dispute to recover the rest. If you're considering a "premium" Viator tour, read the fine print carefully and don't assume the listed inclusions will actually happen — and know that Viator's customer service will lowball you hard if they don't.
We enjoyed this tour and how knowledgeable our guide was. I would definitely recommend taking a guided tour and not just a self guided one. It's long, so consider if your children will actually enjoy it or not.
It is scam! We purchased a Colosseum tour that included the Arena, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill through GetYourGuide, operated by “Show Me Italy.” We arrived 30 minutes before the tour was scheduled to begin. When the guide arrived, he informed us that we would not be able to enter the Colosseum with the tickets they had because, according to him, the Colosseum administration had changed the rules on Monday. Our tour, however, took place on Sunday. The guide gave us two options: 1. Continue with him to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill only; or 2. Go to the Colosseum ticket office and purchase new tickets ourselves. The ticket line was extremely long, and we would likely have lost most of our day waiting. Since we still wanted to take part in a guided tour, we chose to proceed with the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. After the tour ended, we decided to try entering the Colosseum using the original tickets provided by the operator. Upon arriving at the entrance, the Colosseum staff informed us that our tickets were in fact valid and that we could have entered at the scheduled time. They also suggested that either we had been misled or scammed or that Show Me Italy may have lost its authorization to operate tours inside the Colosseum. As a result, we had to purchase new Colosseum tickets (without Arena access, as Arena tickets were no longer available) in order to visit the monument. The agency had two acts of dishonesty: * They did not clearly explain what was actually happening. * They had six days to notify us of any issue, which would have allowed us to purchase our own Colosseum tickets in advance and avoid losing valuable time during our trip. Given the misleading information provided and the additional expenses we incurred, I believe a full refund and reimbursement are entirely justified. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
The tour was suppose to start at 8:30am, but got pushed to 9:30, with only a day’s notice. Our “ticket” to get into the actual Colosseum was a timed ticket, that was to start at 11:30am. No where on the description for this activity was this listed. I would not have purchased this if I would have known. We had the Vatican booked for 12:30pm, and did not have time to go into the Colosseum itself. We only toured the outside for an hour and a half, and then left. The tour guide spoke in a monotone voice the entire time, and very thick accent, that my family and I could hardly understand what he was saying. We left the tour group after only 40 minutes and explored the rest on our own.
