O cânion se estende por 154 quilômetros ao longo do rio Charyn e é formado por rochas sedimentares com 12 milhões de anos.

O Charyn Canyon se estende 154 km ao longo do rio Charyn (um dos rios mais profundos das montanhas do norte de Tien Shan). Vento, água e areia esculpiram a areia vermelha de Charyn para formar suas formas e tons. Alguns dos penhascos se assemelham a figuras particulares, razão pela qual algumas partes do canyon também são chamadas de "Vale dos Castelos", Gorge da Bruxa e Ghosts Gorge. Itinerário 09:00 – Saída de Almaty (3,5 horas de carro, ~200 km). 12:30 – Chegada ao Charyn Canyon, caminhando pelo Vale dos Castelos até o rio. 13:30 – Almoço de piquenique junto ao rio. 14:30 – Tempo livre: explorar, fotos, caminhadas curtas opcionais. 16h00 – Retorno a pé para o estacionamento. 16:30 – Saída para Almaty. 20h30 – chegada a Almaty.

We had 4 day private tour which included a trip to charyon canyon as well as kolsai lake.. from the day we landed from uae to Almaty..ilyas our guide has been fabulous...he was punctual , courteous ,knowledgeable and was great ambassador of his country..Skyway must be proud of having an employee like him...and he must be rewarded for the same... Lastly. I will always recommend people to visit Almaty as it was an out of the world.. experience ..thanks mainly to Ilyas..
Visiting Charyn Canyon with friends was an unforgettable experience! The views are absolutely breathtaking like a mini Grand Canyon in Kazakhstan. With our best tour guide, Adil, we had a great time exploring, hiking, and taking photos. He made the trip even more enjoyable with his knowledge and friendliness. Highly recommend visiting Charyn Canyon, and if you can, go with Adil he’ll make the adventure even better!
First n foremost our Driver cum guide was the best person.His name was Miras.Very courteous n .helpful.His English was fluent n he showed us all the places.Scenery n weather was good.Will recommend a visit to Almaty to all.
I had an amazing time during the trip. Our Kazakhstan was amazing, the tour was well arranged and the tour guide Nazerke was so great and helpful, she also gave us a lot of information about the places we visited and about the country. We went to Shumbulak ski resort ,Charyn Canyon, Kolsay lake and the alma arslan gorge the tour was amazing! Our driver Sergie was also nice
