VATICANO : Museu do Vaticano e Capela Sistina

We really loved being there however it was so hot and there’s way too many people we found out that it’s best to go early in the morning for anyone that is going to book this because it’s chaotic if you do it later in the day, but it’s beautiful, but hot as hell we went on September 26, 2026 There are only parts of the Vatican that has air conditioning However I’m glad we got to see it, as it’s definitely something to experience! If I came back, I would do it early in the morning

The pickup location was pretty easy to find, we took a taxi and he dropped us off a couple stores down, the worker explained everything very well of how the ticket redemption worked and the security line. The regular line wrapped around the corner and we got to skip all of that. It tooks us about 3.5-4 hours to see everything since it was still pretty packed with other visitors and guided groups.

Our tour was cancelled on the morning of with no reason given and we were unfortunately unable to source alternative, affordable tickets to see Vatican City and definitely couldn’t have queued with our 8 month old in the heat. Really disappointed to have missed this sight

I arrived early at the box office the man rushed explaining and sent me on my way without clear directions. It was 5:30pm skip the queue however the queue was 300+ people long and didn’t get into the museum until 6:30pm. It was rammed, squashed in like sardines, pushed about. It’s beautiful in there but cannot appreciate it due to the volume of people they let in at one time. Crazy & for the amount I paid for skip the queue I expected more

If no guided tour I recommend the audio speaker rental. Otherwise wandering through the art history is amazing but can be confusing for a newbie. Like me 🤓

This was an absolute con, this was booked as Part of a 50th Birthday trip and cost £375, the meeting place is hard to find and no one had ever heard of Golden Rome Tours , turns out its actuallg operated by the Big Bus company,after 2 hours of trying to find this in the blistering heat and calling the contact number numerous times, which just rang out, my daughter eventually found the correct office and was met with 2 aggressive Italian men who grudgingly gave her 3 tickets to the vatican museum( bearing in mind we had booked a tour with que jumper tickets, total con. Since my return to the UK I have tried to contact them for even a partial refund....tumbleweed. Avoid

Very disappointed in this company and their service. We were promised a guide to greet us and show where to go and all we got were the tickets sent via what’s app an hour before. Ended up waiting to get into Vatican for an hour even with expensive Skip the Line tickets. I’d avoid this company if I were to go again and at very least really modify my expectations.
