Our so called "half day private tour" was just OK but grossly overpriced at $150.00 for just 2 hours. Payment in full weeks before the tour was demanded repeatedly in a curt manner by their employee Christine. Hoping for the best we did so. During the walking tour Matt spoke to us in a monologue for 2 hours. We only walked a few blocks so we were standing for long periods in the sun. Matt never suggested we sit on a nearby bench - even though I told him I have a bad knee, the reason for the private tour in the first place. Matt was nice enough but seemed overwhelmed and distracted. (He even said this to us). The ONLY thing we requested was to get us to Upper Barrakka Gardens for the noon cannon firing, but Matt failed to do so. I contacted the company privately about my concerns as per their request but they didn't bother to respond. My advice: While their free or cheaper groups tours may be OK, don't book a costly private tour with this company. Later tours we took were much better value.
Dear BabyBoomerCouple, as one can witness from the hundreds of reviews on this page, we take customer satisfaction very seriously. We also take the well-being of our team very seriously. As a general principle, we avoid engaging with emails and messages that are toxic, disrespectful and written in a threatening tone. I am nonetheless glad to share a few thoughts: 1) Private tours require a dedicated guide, and therefore a prepayment is required to confirm resources and availability. 2) Matthew is a very experienced guide and has been guiding with Colour My Travel for 10 years. The feedback about him was always remarkable. Saying that he was overwhelmed and distracted in a tour he has been doing daily for several years is indeed a stretch. 3) From the guide's report, you visited the Upper Barrakka Gardens as you requested and are most likely confusing the garden with another venue. 4) Your verbal feedback to the guide at the end of the tour was positive in nature and a mismatch with this review and the poorly toned emails. We are still sorry that you felt disappointed, even if we did our best to meet your demands during the booking process and the tour.
Interesting information about Valletta's history, ghost stories and other information related to building and events that happened in Valletta long time ago.
Thank you for your lovely review! It is much appreciated! It means a lot especially when coming from a local :)
William was a very good guide and included lots of local tips and stories throughout the tour. If you have done Valletta before and want to do something a bit different then you will find the tails of the Knight of St John interesting
A history lesson in disguise. Contains lots of colourful and juicy information which you don't normally find in history books. You get to know why certain rules and regulations were drawn up in the first place and you also realise that life 400 years ago was in many ways more progressive than it has been in the recent past. I have been on many tours throughout the years and yet this one gave me another side of history I never knew about. Our guide Matthew was very knowledgeable too and also showed us additional pictures and details of what we saw on his tablet. Loved it.

Matthew, our guide, was great! The tour was a fun twist on just general sightseeing. We saw all the main spots, but got to hear about little known facts about the history and people of Valetta. Very interesting!
