Alvor uma tradicional vila piscatória onde nos será dado a conhecer seus usos e costumes deste povo que vivia do mar e para o mar desde a séculos atrás com a sua beleza e encanto natural; visitaremos também o museu Salva Vidas de Alvor com seus segredos que serão transmitidos pelo nosso guia.
Apos percorrermos a costa Portimonense com vistas sobre suas belas praias de areia limpa chegamos à Fortaleza construída em 1621 para proteger os nossos ancestrais marinheiros dos piratas que nos tentavam pilhar, Fortaleza esta com seus encantos e segredos que vos seram revelados pelo nosso guia.
Ferragudo uma linda vila piscatória com mais de 500 anos de existência assentada sobre o estuário do rio Arade, tempo para fazer uma visita as zonas baixas bem como a Igreja que remonta a idade da própria vila e sua vista sobre todo o rio Arade bem como o castelo de são Joao do Arade privado desde há 200anos.
Apos as vistas costeiras e tempo de rumar ao interior rural de Silves a mais antiga cidade de todo o Algarve, durante o qual observaremos as salina do Arade bem como a vinícola Harvad com suas técnicas de produção fenícias, nos ira também ser dado a observar os imensos laranjais berço da nossa doce laranja Algarvia, Eis que chegados ao Castelo de Silves poderemos observar esta magnifica construção milenar bem como sua arquitetura.

Lots of fun with a great guide.
The pick up from our complex was so easy and the two tour guides were so friendly and accomodating. I struggle with high steps and so one of the vehicles was slightly lower and they also brought with them a step stool to make access easier. The two guides that we had were so knowledgeable and took us to a variety of places including a liveky coffee shop which sold the gorgeous Pastal de Nata and also some hand made almond shapes, like marzipan fruits but much better. They took us up into the mountains and shared so much local knowledge. I would absolutely recommend booking a tour with this firm.

A beautiful experience ideal for getting to know the area well; Antonio is a great guide and driver, he makes you live the experience to the fullest and you learn about the culture of the area, this adventure deserves a ten.

The 4-hr tour is organized by a group of enthusiasts who aim to present the local history and daily lives of the area's inhabitants – primarily fishing families. At the start, the guides point out symbols of the story – local monuments, a now-closed fish market, and an old fishing boat, even explaining how it was steered. Participants are then driven in well-maintained vintage Land Rover vans (air-conditioned with the windows open) through the narrow streets of Alvor, allowing them to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of bygone times. Drivers share stories about customs and the details of fishermen's lives. One stop along the route is the Fortaleza de Santa Catarina, where the interesting optical distortion effect of photographing through the barrel of a cannon standing there is demonstrated. The tour then continues through the alleys of Ferragudo (with a break at a friendly café) and past the Fort de São João do Arade castle. From Ferragudo, the route leads along very local roads through the salt pans region to Sitio da Abicada (Estômbar) on the right bank of the Rio Arade, where you can learn about local grape varieties (wine tasting is not included in the program). Next, we visit a local swimming pool on the Rio Arade, fed by natural springs, and the forecourt of Silves Castle (without visiting the paid part of the castle), where you can see the exhibition in the tower. From the castle, the tour moves to the foothills of the Sierra de Silves. There, passengers can take an off-road ride along steep local mountain roads. In summary, the tour is worth the price. However, this tour should be undertaken only by those curious about local life and history. This is the kind of history that rarely makes it into textbooks. The drivers who take care of the participants come across as passionate local patriots who genuinely want to share stories about the land they inhabit. We want to thank Mr. Antonio and Mr. Nuno (our driver) for a job well done.

An excellent tour with Antonio who is extremely knowledgable about the area and its history. He had a great sense of humour too which made it a fun experience. The off-road section was exciting, hang on tight lol. Would definitely recommend, we had a fabulous time. Thank you Antonio!

What an incredible experience! The Jeep tour through Alvor, Portimão, and the surrounding towns was absolutely unforgettable. The views along the way were breathtaking — from the stunning coastline to the beautiful countryside, every stop felt like a postcard picture. What really made the tour special was the guide’s amazing knowledge of the history and culture of each town. You could tell they were passionate about the area, and they shared so many interesting stories and facts that made the experience even more enjoyable and meaningful. The whole tour was fun, well-organized, and packed with incredible scenery and great vibes. I would recommend this tour 100 times over to anyone visiting the Algarve! It was easily one of the highlights of my trip, and I will definitely be booking again the next time I come back.
