Communication with the tour company was challenging since it took several messages before we received a response. However, the actual tour with our tour guide was amazing. Our family of 4, including 2 teens, ended up having a private tour. Our tour guide, Joel, was professional and knowledgeable. It was a 50-min ride from our hotel to the ATV base camp. After receiving instructions, we practiced at base camp for 10 min before heading out. It was our teen daughter’s first time driving an ATV and she quickly got the hang of it thanks to the clear instructions. It wasn’t stated on the website but there is an additional nominal fee of 3 soles per person paid to the local community of Cruzpata to compensate for the ATVs traveling through the village. The ATV ride from the base camp to Moray took about 45 min each way. It was a beautiful scenic ride and we enjoyed every minute of it. Joel even took a video of us riding our ATVs. Moray was beautiful! Joel explained its history and then we had about 20 min to explore on our own. He was also kind enough to take family photos for us. After Moray, we headed to Maras. We knew in advance (based on other reviews) that there wouldn’t be time for lunch so we packed food and snacks to eat during the 20-min bus ride to Maras. The salt mines were stunning. Afterwards, we stopped at a shop for salted chocolate tasting. We ended up buying some souvenirs. Our teens said that this tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Cusco.
It was agreat experience. Rodger our guide, made the experience unforgettable. Seeing the mountain ranges while ATVing its like no other experience. One with nature type thing.
Great day out, great guide and very entertaining and knowledgable. Quad bike riding was 25 mins each way. Well worth the price.
This was the best experience here in Cusco. The tour was well organized and our guide Joel was fantastic as he knew exactly the right spots for great photos and views. Not only were Maras Morais & Salt mines beautiful but the entire scenery while riding the ATV was amazing. Even the shopping for salt was a great deal as it was cheaper than San Pedro market in Cusco. We've done ATV in couple of places but enjoyed this one the most. Our driver Jesus was great too! Highly recommended & a great value which combined adventure, scenery, history, and geology all in one!!!
Joel was good. He was very nice and was a great guide. This review is not about him. Whoever Joel was with was a terrible person. He purposely made the ATV ride with one of the older members in our group extremely bumpy, even after she repeatedly told him to stop. She asked multiple times for him to slow down. He just laughed at her and kept doing crazy stunts on the ATV. We had a Macchu Picchu hike right after, and she has severe back pain the whole time.
AtV are usually not covered by insurance so i was a bit nervous about taking the wheel myself so i opted for sitting behind the tour leader which was great . I felt safe and could take in the views and take pics. The salt mines were particularly impressive (4000) of them. Make sure you have enough warm clothing on as when on ATV can be cold . Some reviews say don't forget snacks bit unless you missed breakfast not necessary as tour ends at 1 pm.
Joel was a great guide and made our experience very enjoyable. He had some good pitstops as well as explanations of the sights that we were seeing. Definitely a must do if in cuzco for a few days.
This was an awesome experience!! Would recommend to anyone regardless of experience. The team ensures that you feel safe on an ATV before you go on the main road/course.
Joel was a fantastic guide! He was very knowledgeable and made for an awesome experience. I unfortunately had some altitude sickness on the way to the first stop and he was very kind and helpful through that as well. Highly recommend, especially if Joel is your guide!
Joel was a great guide and also a Laura Pausini lover
