A well organised great value day out - 3 trips in one

This 7 1/2 trip is worth every penny and we had the most amazing time! It is worth noting that you have to have a pass to enter Comino which can be done in advance, you then just have to collect your orange wristband from the blue Comino hut by where you get on the boat. Communication was great and the boat easy to find. There’s a great little spot for breakfast prior to your trip over the road called busy bee and was fab! The boat was well equipped with toilets, plenty of seats both in and out the sun, and even a lower submarine vision deck. There’s also a bar which serves a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks and a selection of snacks such as hot dogs and Pringles all for a reasonable price. A beer and 2 bottles of water was €9. The first stop on Gozo - definitely buy the minibus pass to take you up to the centre, it’s well organised ensuring there is space for everyone to be sat together if in a group on each bus. Instructions were clear when we were dropped off, and around where we would be collected and the time. The driver also told us the way to go to get into the main centre of Victoria, which were easy to follow. There’s a steep slope up to the citadel but well worth the walk up there - you can view this for free and you just pay if you want to enter the visitor centre. There are plenty of places to grab some food, drinks and do some shopping both in St George’s square and around the adjoining streets. The trip to Comino and the blue lagoon was beautiful - yes it’s busy, but it’s to be expected but the boats pull up in what seems to be their own designated space, meaning plenty of room to swim, slide down into the water or have an explore of the food and drink outlets on Comino - again we felt these were reasonably priced. We felt super safe leaving our bags on the boat whilst we were on the sea and exploring Comino. After here we headed back to Sliema via the stunning sea caves - the driver’s expertise at getting so close really is something else and we got a fab view despite being on a larger boat! Few tips: We went in August so weather was super hot so remember your sunscreen or bear this in mind when choosing your seats It says arrive 30 mins before your boat leaves, bearing in mind you have to collect your orange wrist band for the blue lagoon before you board, we recommend arriving slightly earlier although we didn’t and were fine, and still got great seats! A lot of boats seem to come into Gozo harbour and do drop offs in Victoria, so we opted to have food first before exploring so we weren’t rushed and had plenty of time to eat. Slope up to the citadel was quite slippery even though it was dry from where the steps are wearing away (to be expected given its age) so just be careful Comino is quite rugged terrain, I wore flip flops, and managed fine, but trainers probably would have been better. Sea crossing was a bit bumpy in places but nothing major. To get the best view of the coastline on the way to Gozo - sit on the left. To get the best view of the caves on the way back - sit on the right

Gozo, Blue Kagoon and Comino Caves

You just get dropped off at Gozo and you have a steep walk to St Anthony Church and its surrounds. I found the walk worthwhile. The church inside is beautiful and the view overlooking Gozo is amazing. Once you have done that you just have enough time to have lunch a meet the bus again. The bus does stop at a scenic spot for pictures. The blue Lagoon is definitely worth while and jumping off the boat and the water slide adds to the value away from the crowds

Imperdible

Meeting the Blue Lagoon was one of the most memorable experiences of our trip to Malta. The water is of an impressive turquoise blue, so crystal clear that it looks like a natural pool. It is impossible not to be enchanted by the transparency of the sea and the beauty of the surrounding rock formations. We took the boat ride and had time to swim, snorkel and simply enjoy the landscape. The feeling of floating in that transparent water is indescribable. It is very worth wearing a diving mask to observe the fish and the sea floor. An important point is to arrive early or opt for a walk in the early hours, as the place is quite crowded during the summer. Still, the beauty of Blue Lagoon makes any visit worthwhile. Without a doubt, it is a must-see tour for those who visit Malta. A true postcard and an experience that will stay in memory forever.

False advertising AVOID

False advertising ticket was supposed to include a tour of Gozo- was dropped off in 90 degree heat with a 10 minute walk uphill to the Citadel and was told we were on our own to explore for 2 hours.

Must do for first time Gozo/Blue Lagoon visitors

Excellent value full day trip. Boarding was relatively easy, although you are required to validate your Blue Lagoon landing QR code at the stall opposite b4 u board. This wasn’t clear beforehand. After cruising past the various resorts and Comino, you arrive at Gozo. Was a little bit chaotic as so many people with different wristbands were directed to numerous coaches. Trip within Gozo was stunning. The Citedalla at the top of the hill had stunning views. After a couple of hours it was back to the boat for another 90 mins free time. Boat berthed at a quieter part of the lagoon which was ideal, as other areas were heaving with other trips with hundreds of swimmers. Boat had its own slide and as it was berthed you could come and go as you pleased. Unlike previous -ve reviews, we found the trip to be well organised, informative and was made up of all ages. Boat has a bar serving through the trip and prices were reasonable. Toilets were clean and routinely inspected and resupplied. After the lagoon, we returned to Sliema via the caves of St Mary for some cracking photo ops. Return to Sliema was around 90-mins, returning at 5:30pm. Overall an enjoyable day at a reasonable price. Can highly recommend.

Not as advertised! We...

Not as advertised! We expected commentary on Gozo; instead driven to parking spot and told to walk up hill and see the citadel and city and be back in 1-1/2 hrs. Got back early and driver wouldn’t let us on bus and out of heat (know you can’t do anything about the heat wave but we could have sat in air-conditioning on bus for 20 minutes!) Driver was busy conducting other business on phone while time, even while driving. Boat was over-crowded.

Cruise to Malta

The cruise was beautiful, interesting, and well-organized. Beautiful places. The only problem is to be attributed to the agency in Sliema, composed of Sandro the Neapolitan and his collaborator, who did not behave correctly regarding the schedules. For the rest, the cruise is to be recommended!

Don’t Waste Your Time or Money

If you want to go with 250 of your newest 17-25 year olds you met in the club last night, this is your tour. If you are an actual adult or family or want to actually see the city or snorkel don’t bother. This was nothing more than any spring break at Lake Havasu, Panama City, or Cancun. If they just called it a party boat with a quick dip in the blue lagoon with 3000 other people, that would be a more apt description. Cattle boat couldn’t be a more appropriate way to describe. The “tour” (in quotes on purpose because it’s anything but), starts with filling the boat to max capacity, an hour and a half ride where you can’t see anything because all the “teens” gathering around the rails to vape, then they drop you off with no accountability or directions to get on a random bus in Gozo. After a 20 minute ride, you’re dumped out on some side street with expert directions of head up the hill, you’ll eventually get to the citadel, be back in 2 hours. Then back on the boat to the blue lagoon where there are legitimately 50 other boats and 3000 other people to snorkel or “explore the island”. Snorkeling is watching 3 fish under the boat while trying not to be hit by people on water slides, jumping from the bow or top deck of boats, or any number of idiots launching themselves from the rocks/cliffs. As for shore, it’s nothing but food trucks or chair & umbrella rentals. Then it’s fighting all 3000 people down the single file stairs to get back on the boats that all leave at the same time to make space for the evening wave. Back on the boat you get treated to an entire boat of overserved kids eating three hotdogs at a time and loudly telling each other what a giant (insert demeaning term) they were. Do not waste your money.
