É o maior lago de água doce da Armênia e um dos maiores lagos de alta altitude do mundo.
O mosteiro é composto por duas igrejas, Surp Arakelots (Santos Apóstolos) e Surp Astvatsatsin (Santa Mãe de Deus), construídas com pedra vulcânica escura. A igreja está sentada em uma colina, oferece vistas panorâmicas do Lago Sevan e das montanhas circundantes.
O bairro possui varandas de madeira, casas de pedra, telhados de azulejos vermelhos e ruas pavimentadas, refletindo o rico patrimônio da cidade.
Instalado nas florestas de Dilijan, o mosteiro é cercado por colinas verdes, tornando-o um retiro pacífico. Construído entre os séculos 10 e 13, é um importante centro religioso e cultural.

Arsen was my tour guide and he was fantastic - great communication and very good knowledge. Was able to help me out with everything and gave very good recommendations. Would definitely recommend him and Tatev tours.
The tour was very convenient to schedule and the itinerary was flexible. The guide was friendly and gave us glimpse of the history of the places we went to and we stopped in between for photos in the beautiful mountain roads. The monastery in Sevan lake had 200 stairs but we have the flexibility to go up or not. Even below the monastery there are souvenir shops, fruit shop, bakeries and restaurant so you can opt to stay down and visit these stores. Overall it was lovely experience the road trip to all the places itself is really good.
