Friendly boat staff and plenty of time to explore the island that gave a lot of information about volcanoes. The Hot Springs was amazing as the clay like material on the bottom made my skin so smooth. Make sure you wear an old bathing suit as it will get stained.
Thank you so much for your great review! We are happy to hear you enjoyed the volcano tour and the Hot Springs. Thank you also for sharing that helpful tip about the bathing suit with other travelers. We hope to welcome you onboard again soon!
Bring good sneakers, I used hiking and it was perfect. The hot springs were great too! They had great selection of beverages on board. Best 35 euros spent
We’re happy to hear you had a wonderful time! Thanks for sharing your experience.
I booked the Half Day Volcano and Hot Springs trip while in Santorini and left genuinely shocked at the lack of basic safety equipment. My girlfriend isn't a strong swimmer, so at the hot springs we asked to borrow a life jacket for the swim from the boat. The answer? There were no life jackets onboard. None. For an entire boat full of tourists. Let that sink in. A commercial vessel taking paying passengers out to sea, with not a single life jacket available, not for swimming, not for an emergency, not for anyone. We were forced to sit out one of the main highlights of the trip simply because the operator failed to provide equipment that any passenger should be able to take for granted. This isn't a minor complaint about comfort or scheduling, it's a fundamental safety failure. Carrying life jackets for every person onboard isn't optional on a passenger boat, and being flatly told there were none is alarming. I dread to think what would happen if something actually went wrong out there. I cannot recommend this tour until the operator can demonstrate that proper life jackets are carried for every passenger, every trip. Book at your own risk.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We take all comments regarding safety very seriously, and we would like to clarify our safety protocols to address your concerns. First and foremost, we want to assure you that our vessels are fully equipped with life jackets. Our boats regularly undergo strict official inspections, pass all required safety checks, and hold all the necessary maritime safety certificates. Safety is, and always has been, our highest priority. The information you were given onboard stating that there were no life jackets at all was completely incorrect, and we sincerely apologize for this miscommunication by our crew. We are already addressing this internally to ensure it does not happen again. However, we need to clarify that the life jackets onboard are strictly reserved for emergency situations. They are regulation safety equipment, not recreational swimming aids. For example, if a vessel carries 80 passengers and 60 of them request emergency life jackets for recreational swimming, it would be logistically impossible to coordinate, manage, and maintain our emergency readiness. For this reason, we kindly inform all future guests that anyone wishing to swim at the Hot Springs must be comfortable swimming independently in open waters. We deeply regret the misunderstanding and the disappointment this caused you and your girlfriend during your trip.
Arsenios our guide was great. With a family of 6, from young to middle aged he kept a good pace engaged in interesting conversations for all of us and was knowledgeable of the ins and outs of history, landscape and picture taking. Definitely recommend.
We appreciate your feedback! We’re happy you had a memorable experience.
All in all, we had a great tour. Our tour guide Soso was wonderful as we hiked up the volcano with him listening to the knowledge he had to share with us about how Volcano and Santorini was formed. He hiked up with us all the way to the top and the view from the top was simply beautiful, although I must admit that we found the hike a bit straineos given the fact we are in 50's (although completely fit). The stop at the hot springs was also sufficient for people who wanted to take a dip and swim up to the hot springs. The only reason I give this tour a 4 star is because the stop at the volcano was 1.5 hours. If you hike up without making a stop with the guide, you can get up there in 25 to 30 minutes, take photo and hike down in that time frame. When you passionately listen to guide, making stop and then going all the way up, you hardly have time left to stand there and take photos. We were really rushed to hike down to make sure the boat does not leave without us. The guide does not hike down with you, he is supposed to go back down right away since he is responsible for checking the people back into the boat. So we felt like we were running out of breath to hike back down (which was also straineus since you have to avoid slippery rocks and such). If you go up with the guide, takes you about 45 to 50 minutes to go to the top. The stop should have been 2 hours at the volcano instead of 1.5 hours. Anyway, we did best of what we had. Also, the bathrooms in the boat were dirty and I was hugely disappointed that neither one of the two bathrooms had no hand soap nor paper towel. After each 3 hour trip, the ground staff should make sure to refill the hand soap as well as paper towel before the boat takes off again. Even on one bathroom flush button was broken and it was hard to figure out where the flush button is but I managed to find it. This is another reason it leads me to give it a 4 star. But all in all, it was worth the tour. thank you, Viator.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed and thoughtful review . We are thrilled that you enjoyed the stunning views and our guide's passionate insights, though we completely understand that the pace of the hike can feel strenuous and rushed; this is exactly why the hike to the very top is entirely optional, allowing guests to experience the volcano at their own comfortable pace. We also sincerely apologize for the lack of soap and paper towels in the boat's bathrooms. This was a rare, isolated oversight that does not reflect our usual standards, and we have already addressed it with our ground staff to ensure thorough checks and refills between every trip. Thank you again for your valuable feedback, and we are so glad that, all in all, the tour was well worth it for you!
It’s a quick ride from Fira to Volcano. Was smooth but really no accommodations for rain which it did tarps poured water to middle where seats and tables were. Snack bar only takes cash. Passengers were discouraged from swimming in hot springs saying water was cold where swimmers went in and they would be wet and cold after leaving water. We did and found it not a bad experience at all.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. Our boats are specifically designed for summer excursions, but we are looking into better ways to handle unexpected rain. Regarding the snack bar, due to our remote location, there are moments when the lack of a 5G signal makes card transactions difficult. Lastly, our crew advises against swimming in the rain solely out of care for our guests, wanting to ensure no one gets cold afterward. We are glad you had a great experience regardless, and we hope to welcome you back on a sunnier day!
Wish we had longer in the hot springs, was just a jump in, swim into the warm water, and swim back to the boat. Other then that it was a decent trip
Thank you for your feedback! Your review means a lot to us.
Very helpful crew, wooden sailboat style boat, very friendly guide who did the explanations in Greek, English but also in French. The scenery was beautiful. No problem swimming the 50m to the hot springs, thanks to the fries. We were a little afraid of the water temperature of these 50m but it was quite bearable. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the tour and hope to welcome you again soon.
Nice 3hr trip on a lovely old fashioned type of vessel. The guide on the trip was very knowledgeable about the volcano and guided us up to the top. There was also a stop for us to try the hot springs and the crew were very mindful of who should swim in the sea.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review! We’re delighted you joined us on the tour.
We really liked it. Even if the weather wasn't great for a swim, it was for the excursion on the volcano. Our guide spoke very good French and was really good advice. Walking to the crater is easy
We truly appreciate your review! It’s great to know you had a wonderful experience.
