Words can’t express how amazing this experience was. From the second you arrive Anna makes you feel like family. She is so warm and inviting and eager to teach you about the farm. I learned so much more than just cooking. It was fascinating to hear how they work so hard to keep this tomato farm alive and thriving. It’s a look into the beautiful traditions Santorini has and what makes their tomatoes so delicious! It’s important to hold onto these traditions and the family that help run this farm, truly have so much pride and hard work to keep that magic going! The recipes we made were delicious! Anna was very attentive to each person and making sure we all understood and contributed a part to the meal. We enjoyed our meal under a tree with wine and a view of the farm. Anna takes you on a tour through the town next to the farm as well. You truly get that wholesome experience of meeting the locals and seeing the beauty and history of Santorini. We even got to try a taste of the Ouzo from a restaurant in town. This was one of our favorite experiences we did while visiting. I HIGHLY suggest others to book this tour with Anna. I can’t wait to replicate these recipes at home and teach others. Σας ευχαριστώ Anna for an amazing experience and education on tomato farms in Santorini! <3 Ben & Brittany
This experience helped me to see beyond the tourism of Santorini, and to appreciate the essence of this island. Anna is very professional and wove so many layers into the evening: family, food, farm and wine, and so much more! An absolute highlight was cooking the meal together. And sitting under the shade of the tree to eat. I also really enjoyed hearing about the unique way grapes and vines are managed according to the Santorini climate. Do this tour as soon as possible because it helps you to relate to everything on Santorini so much better and to get the most out of your time. - the cost of pick up and drop up was very cheap compared to the cost of Santorini taxis so I definitely recommend that. - I have fair skin and was worried about the sun but there was no need. I wasn't in the sun for long. - we were offered water on arrival. Anna has great energy and ability to share stories to help you connect with the heart of Santorini people.
This was such a beautiful experience. Much more than cooking class, we got to learn about the history and preservation of agriculture on santorini. Amazingly fresh ingredients and a lovely setting for a meal. Anna was a great host and I recommend arranging for travel with their driver, who also provided a lot of information on the short drive over. Also great overall at communicating beforehand to make sure we were able to navigate to the pick up spot on time.
What an amazing experience! My wife and I booked this class for our honeymoon trip and it was probably the highlight. That's putting it over wine tastings and catamarans. If you booked the private transport, they partner with Argyros travel and our driver, Will, was amazing to talk to for the near hour there and back to our Airbnb. As for the class itself, Anna is an amazing host providing a great history of the farm, the island, and explaining the cultural significances of the dishes you make. In this, you get to see a side of Santorini that isn't what's always flashed in your face on the internet and it is beautiful. We were lucky on our class as we did not book the private class but it ended up being the two of us. It really let us connect with Anna on a personal level. We left feeling like we made two new friends that day. If we come back to visit, this will definitely be an experience we book again. Thank you, Anna!
My husband and I had the best time at this cooking class. We learned a lot about the history of tomato farming on Santorini and had the cooking class to ourselves! Anna was so kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. We also enjoyed our conversation with the driver (Will) who picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. The food was delicious and we can’t wait to make the recipes at home. We would come back to Santorini just to see Anna and Will again.
It was the most authentic and wonderful experience. We had a great driver, Will, who took us to the farm. Anna, the cooking guide, was so personable, friendly and very wise. We cooked the most authentic Greek food and learned so much about Greek history. Tomatoes, zucchini, herbs and eggplant were from the farm. We also tried different types of wine. We had great and wonderful tour of megalohari village. People in the village are very friendly, spiritual and godly. We had the most memorable experience and recommend this to anyone who visits!
Anna was amazing! She was friendly, informative & very kind. The dishes that we prepared were so good. We had another couple from France in our class & had a really nice time visiting with them over the delicious lunch we had all made together. This experience was one of our best on Santorini!!!
Incredible experience! A visit to an actual working farm. Ana was so fun in showing us around & leading the cooking class. We got to prepare Santorini salad, fried white eggplant & zucchini (huge!), fava, tomato jam, and then all eaten under the trees at the farm. This experience reminds you of how eating should be. Ana’s warmth & hospitality are unrivaled, and it’s so interesting to learn about a real working farm. BTW, Greek tomatoes are even better than Italy’s.
This was such a great experience! From our driver and all of his local knowledge, to our guide Ana who was so friendly and full of interesting facts, we got so much more out of this experience than we expected. The cooking class was fun and our food was delicious and so were the wines we tasted. And, the tour of the charming local village was a great way to end the day.
Our family of five, which includes a grade schooler, booked this kind of on a whim. It turned out to be the best thing we did on the island. Anna was a remarkable host… She clearly has a passion for traditional farming methods, and for the local Santorini culture and farming community. We learned how to take simple but fresh ingredients and turn them into a beautiful lunch. We also got a lot of history and perspective from her during our time there. We would highly recommend this for people who want what I would call an authentic experience versus somethingthat’s more of a tour. I’m not sure how frequent it is to not have other parties with you but for us it felt like we were invited into somebody’s home for lunch for three hours.
