Visitaremos o Centro Histórico de Tlaxcala onde poderemos admirar os belos murais do Ayuntamiento pintados por um famoso artista mexicano.
Se visitar a zona arqueológica de Cacaxtla: conhecerá as ruínas e pirâmides que nos descrevem a larga ocupação e o maior esplendor sustentado entre os anos 650 a 900 D.C. por parte das etnias Olmecas-Xicalancas ocupantes da zona de Cacaxtla. Entre seus vestígios destaca-se o Gran Basamento, um grande complexo arquitetônico de estruturas superpuestas e adosadas que apresentam sofisticadas pinturas murais, únicas em sua classe, nos chamados Templo de Vênus, Templo Rojo, Mural de la Batalla e Pórtico A. Debido a la necesidad de proteger as valiosas pinturas, na década de 1980 se colocó una amplia techumbre de alrededor de 10.000 m2 sobre la sección medular del Gran Basamento.
Fundada a raíz da aparição da Virgem Maria ao indígena Juan Diego Bernardino em 1541, é considerada uma das expressões máximas da arquitetura barroca do século XVIII. Además del Camarín de la Virgen, de estilo barroco indígena.

Picked up by Ronnie and driver at hotel in Puebla. Ronnie is very informed and personable, we had great discussions about Poblano and Tlaxcala history, economics and social development (and football and lucha libre). Toured the Cacaxtla site, very impressive. Ronnie put the importance of the pyramids and murals in the context of the indigenous world-view. Capped our visit with a tour of the historic center of Tlaxcala. Lovely day all around!

We had a super tour with Ronnie. His knowledge of the history of Cacaxtla and Tlaxcala was impressive and provided great information as well as made it interesting. Ronnie was also very patient and accommodating as we had one person moving slowly. While not expected, there were no others joining so it was a “private” tour as well. Highly recommend Ronnie and this tour.
It was a great day. The archeological site was amazing and our guide and driver were terrific. In addition to seeing Cocaxtla we went to Xochitécatl which was also a lovely site. And, to top it off, our guide and driver took us for amazing tacos.

A really great tour. I was the only one on the tour which was nice. Guide explained things very, a very good pace and took good photos. Really enjoyed the mix of the archaeological site and towns.

Don’t go on Tuesdays because the Basilica is closed on Tuesdays. Also, if you look up the story of this Virgin Mary, there is a story related to her that talks about holy water that she gave to heal and that is not at the basilica, it’s maybe a 5-10 minute drive to get there from the church and as long as you bring your own bottle you can take as much water as you want. My mother went with me, she really wanted the water and was super pleased to go there. Our driver, David, was really great and our guide Lionel was superb, super knowledgeable about everything.

Cacaxtla was a very interesting archeological site. The small city of Tlaxcala was very pretty and filled with history. All a short drive from Puebla. Ronald was a terrific English speaking guide!! Very nice and informative!
