Percurso de dia inteiro com caminhada de cerca de 4 horas e 30 minutos, iniciando o percurso no Paúl da serra, descendo para o vale do Rabaçal para a primeira levada, que nos leva á primeira cascata, a cascata do Risco Descemos para encontrar a segunda levada das 25 fontes proporcionando assim vistas maravilhosas e únicas sobre o vale do Rabaçal, encontrando espécies endémicas de fauna e flora ao longo do percurso até chegar á lagoa das 25 fontes. No regresso passamos por um túnel de cerca de 800 metros

Our tour guide, Elton, was excellent. His knowledge was impressive, and it was clear he is genuinely passionate about his work. I couldn’t recommend the tour highly enough — it was a really enjoyable and well-run experience.

We made the Rabaçal levada - 25 Fontes and it was fabulous. The forest is beautiful, we passed through 2 waterfalls and several small springs, we were accompanied by birds, we passed in an immense tunnel and we finished the walk in one of the most beautiful and magical places I have ever seen. Our guide, Elton, has a sense of humor that makes the hardest parts of the walk easy and has taught us incredible things about the forest and the island’s history. Of bonus, still gave us some tips of what to visit besides Funchal. Taking a ride with a guide was not an easy financial decision, but it was totally worth it. If we could have walked through the woods without a guide? We could. But then we would not have given up some of the magical things we saw. Free Spirit Walks was personally recommended to me by someone who had already walked with them. I leave my testimony here too.

Good hike and some good views especially the waterfall and underground tunnell. The best part of the hike was our brilliant guide Susanna who was full of knowledge and positive energy. I'll definately book again in the future.

We booked 2 walks with Madeira Free Spirit Walks. A half day walk along levada de Referta, superbly led by guide Alvaro who explained the landscape, cultivation & traditions of the area. Then a full day walk Rabacal : 25 Fountains, again superbly led by guide Elton through the Laurissilva Forest, along levadas, through hill country – & also an interesting tunnel! Both of these guides were excellent – they made the walk into a real close encounter with rural Madeira, past & present. Tour group limited to 14/15. We thoroughly recommend Madeira Free Spirit Walks and all their staff.

Elton was a great guide: professional, fun and rich in knowledge about the nature and culture on Madeira. The pace he made the group of 14 was good so we had progress but also had time for photos and snacks. The pick up in the center of Funchal worked well and it was relaxing to stop by a bar on our way back. I can strongly recommend this great tour provider.

Very nice views. 1 major waterfall. More steps than I realized but doable-I’m 68. Elton was so nice and informative. I learned alot about Madeira.

Very informative and interesting. Level of fitness needs to be above average to complete the walk. Rain jacket and waterproof hiking shoes a must.

We had a super experience with Elton as a guide: he was fun, knowledgeable, informative and well organized. The tour is lush and nice: popular tour, but the path was well arranged for mass walking. Typical pickup at 08:00 and return to 16:00 in Funchal. Another day we went to Pico de Areeiro to Pico Ruvio - a much more demanding and spectacular trip, but greatly fine despite fog. Both tours are highly recommended with this tour operator, and with Elton as a nice guide.

Riscoe and 25 Fonts. Elton was a great guide, kept the energy and interest up the whole way! Good program and balance, with a couple of short stops on the drives to take refreshments and toilet break. Apart from the pick up being a few minutes late (we were the last pick up) absolutely spot on. Very happy with our choice.

When we booked it said that the tour was four and a half hours, but it turned out to be wrong. It was four and a half hours walk in 11 km which was not clear. The tour was 7.5 hours. If you’re not a hiking enthusiast, the tour is too long and boring and once you’ve arrived at the 25 fairies, it’s like Dante’s inferno with people climbing over each other and over rocks to get room to eat somewhere or to take a good selfie. It was a tiny area and you could not see much of the springs for all people. There was a lot of downhill and uphill and over 800 steps. It all ended with going through a completely pitch black tunnel of 800 m with water up to the calves , that part could have been completely without. The guide Elton was so nice and tried to make the best of everything even though I thought it was boring and hard. He was entertaining and nice
