Maria Luisa and Ilaria were a great pair of hostesses. We had a beautiful evening preparing food and becoming good friends. The food was amazing. Requires little cooking skills and yet as an experienced pasta maker I still learned some things that will elevate my cooking These ladies are absolutely delightful.
Very personal pasta making experience!!! Wonderful experience making fresh, handmade pasta in Maria’s home. She’s and her partner were excellent teachers and hosts, not only showing us how to make three shapes of pasta but sharing local culture and history.
Maria Angela welcomed us warmly. She had a lot of interesting things to tell and shared a lot with us. Thanks to her kindness we felt at home with her. We would definitely come back.
What a delight! There were 9 of us and we had the best time and the best food. I feel I can now make pasta which I wouldn't have said 2 weeks ago.
I can’t say how fabulous this experience was. The process was so fun and enjoyable. The food was amazing. Angela was a terrific teacher! She was so knowledgeable! And a delight to spend the evening with! Thanks so much!
Angela was amazing. Made us feel at home. Very good teacher and made it such a fun experience. We felt like we had known her all our lives. It was one of our highlights in Italy. I truly recommend Angela.
We had a great experience making homemade tortellini, tortelloni, and tagliatelle in Maria Luisa’s home. She made it easy and accessible for those who were experienced and those less so. We left confident in the ability to replicate it a home and also full from tasting our creations along with some treats from her family recipes. We would definitely highly recommend this for individuals, couples or families.
Maria Luisa was a fantastic host. Very friendly, patient and warm. We learned to make tortelloni, farfalle and tagliatelle. Can't wait to try it again at home. Recommended!
Cooking with Angela was a woderful experience. She is a very loving person, she speaks very good English, is a great host. She is sharing everything she has, her knowledge about cooking as well as her 40 years old self made vinigar. She even opened a jar of self made orange jam to bake a cake with me. At the end she took a walk with me in her garten, where she filled my bag with herbs growing in her garten.
We took the class with Louisa and Ilaria on a visit in September. What a phenomenal experience. From the moment we walked in we felt like family and the pasta we made was outright phenomenal. It's not easy, but the work is worth it (think lots of kneading and flattening.) They were a great couple of women to work with. We had wine, there was music in the background and they helped us along. We made 3 types of pasta, tortellini, tagliatelle, and bowties. The initial item we started making though was the tiramisu, which was AAAAAMAZING! It had to be made first so it could set in the refrigerator. We filled the tortellini with the spinach and ricotta (learned how to make that too..Check) and put the Ragu (which is pretty much the best darn Bolognese I have had in my LIFE...sorry, getting excited about it) on the tagliatelle and the bowties. We had some wine, some giggles, took loads of pics and just loved every moment of life with these women. They can be contacted at luisanicolini65@gmail.com so if you are looking for an excellent class (with the work, so you can feel it...AND the recipes)..contact them and set it up. They also have a great little apartment for stays right in Modena. Not great for me as I have some walking difficulties and there were stairs, but perfect location in the center of town. If you are looking for an honest to goodness pasta making class in Modena with some wonderful women and lots of joy thrown in, and recipes included, contact them. They want to share the love and joy they have for good food. Happy gals and happy tummy's when we sadly departed after our afternoon of fun! Our hearts and tummy's were full. Thank you so much Louisa and Illaria~
