Este magnífico Leão estava originalmente localizado no topo da Grande Tumba em Anfípolis e em algum momento no passado foi transferido para sua localização atual, vários quilômetros. longe do local da tumba.
A antiga cidade de Filipos foi fundada pelo Padre Alexandre, o Grande, onde visitaremos a Basílica, o teatro, o Fórum Romano, a cela onde o Apóstolo Paulo foi preso, mas também a Igreja Octógono - a primeira igreja cristã da Europa.
Depois do local arqueológico, você continuará até o Baptistério de Santa Lídia, localizado em um ambiente natural tranquilo junto ao rio Zygaktis. É dedicado à primeira mulher na Europa a ser batizada pelo apóstolo Paulo, simbolizando o início do cristianismo na Europa. Uma parada espiritualmente significativa que complementa a visita a Filippi.
Durante séculos, na cidade de Kavala, bizantinos, otomanos, judeus, comerciantes, trabalhadores do tabaco, refugiados e intelectuais misturaram-se e prosperaram. Aqui na Macedónia, as rotas marítimas encontraram o eixo Leste-Oeste, fertilizando ambos. It was a very nice trip. Taking us to a number of interesting sights with great efficiency also the driver was very accommodating to our needs and talking with him was very insightful.

Great day after scheduling mix up in the morning. Visillis was a great host and would recommend him to anyone. All of the stops were interesting and enjoyable. If you want to avoid bus tour this is a good option

Adonis our driver was EXCELLENT!!! You know that friend you haven't see in a long time, this is what it felt like being with Adonis! He had a great knowledge of the Bible and brought it to life. He was incredibly friendly and our family had a great time in his company. He recommended an excellent restaurant in Kavala. What a great way to spend the day visiting the archeological site of Philippi and the city of Kavala. We opted to not purchase the tour guide option which turned out just fine. The site offers a download audio guide with admission. Our driver, Antonis, was a gentleman and had a friendly and positive demeanor. The ride was very comfortable. He turned us on to some great Greek music and his lunch recommendation in Kavala was delicious. If you are looking for something outside of a normal tour, with a laid back vibe, I highly recommend.
