O passeio sai do terminal de cruzeiros em direção a Castelmola (aproximadamente 45 minutos por estrada). Castelmola é uma pequena vila no topo de Taormina com uma vista maravilhosa do Monte Etna. Após cerca de uma hora seguimos para Taormina, uma das cidades mais bonitas da Itália, acessível apenas a pé e repleta de lojas e restaurantes. Depois de cerca de 2 ou 3 horas voltamos a Messina, mas não antes de um belo passeio panorâmico pela Isola Bella. Como última parada, visitaremos o Santuário de Cristo Rei, um ponto panorâmico sobre o Estreito de Messina, e a catedral Duomo, onde poderá admirar o maior relógio astronômico da Europa. O horário foi pensado para aproveitar ao máximo sua estadia na Sicília e chegar perfeitamente no horário com o navio de cruzeiro.

Oleksandra and Angelo were very good, but the shock absorbers on the van were very bad, resulting in a rough ride from Messina to Castelmola and back, making it difficult to enjoy the scenery.
We're really sorry if the road scared you a little. To get to Castelmola, a small medieval village, the road has a few curves, but we always try to drive as carefully as possible. I hope you enjoyed the rest of the day, as I could see from the photos.
Wow what a trip. We had the best tour guide Karola and the guy behind the wheel Enzo. The sites where unbelievable and the food was amazing. You have to do the trip.

We booked our day in Taormina with Sicily Best Excursions, and it was one of the highlights of our entire trip! From the very beginning, Alberto was wonderful to work with. He responded promptly to every question and made the planning process easy and stress-free. On the morning of our excursion, Paria reached out to introduce herself as our guide for the day. She was waiting for us at the gate exactly at our agreed-upon time, and from that moment on, she stayed with us for the entire day. Paria was absolutely incredible! We had a fantastic private tour of Taormina and Castelmola during our cruise stop in Messina. Paria was an excellent guide, friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about Sicily. The vehicle was comfortable, clean, and perfect for a full day of sightseeing. Taormina was definitely the highlight for us. The town is beautiful, with great shopping, charming streets, excellent restaurants, and incredible views. We could have spent even more time there. Castelmola offered a different experience, with stunning panoramic views of Mount Etna and the coastline, and was a nice complement to Taormina. What we appreciated most was how flexible and personalized the tour felt. We were traveling with young children and older parents, and Paria did a wonderful job adapting the pace so everyone could enjoy the day comfortably. We had the absolute best time in Sicily thanks to Alessandro, Marisa and Massimo! Marisa and Massimo took us to Taormina, Castelmola, and a last minute beach stop to swim. As we drove we learned wonderful things about our surroundings and the history of each stop. We enjoyed sampling the special food and drink of Castelmola and Taormina--each recommendation and offering by Marisa was amazing and delicious! Marisa took us on a walking tour through Castelmola and Taormina and it felt like a special time of learning from an old friend. We thoroughly enjoyed our day with them both! And as a special bonus, Marisa sent me pictures afterward that were the best pictures of my husband and me from our entire trip! She is a gifted photographer too! You will not regret spending the day with Marisa and Massimo!
