We had an incredible experience on the Matanuska Glacier Hike with Lunch! Our tour guide, Chris, was outstanding. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area and shared fascinating information throughout the entire tour, pointing out interesting features and facts we would have otherwise missed. What really stood out was how much effort Chris made to get to know us and learn about our interests. He tailored the experience accordingly, making sure we spent extra time on the things we enjoyed most. Our glacier hike actually ran longer than scheduled, which we didn't mind at all because it was so engaging and memorable. Chris never rushed us and encouraged us to take in the experience and enjoy the moment. He was also happy to take photos for us, which allowed us to fully enjoy the hike while still capturing great memories. The glacier itself was absolutely breathtaking, and the delicious lunch was the perfect addition to an already fantastic day. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Alaska. Thank you, Chris, for making it such a special experience!

This was probably a once in a lifetime experience for me and it was AMAZING. If you’re thinking about it DO IT. The food was amazing and everyone had a great time. It was just our small group on the tour so he even dropped us back off at our place. 10/10

What a great experience!! Our tour guide, Chris, was super well informed and a great story teller!! I was on the edge of my seat on the drive to the glacier when Chris was telling us the story of Togo and his musher. The hike itself was great and Sophie was a great guide. The lunch (included in tour cost) was totally a plus and he even dropped us off at our AirBnB since it was just our group. Totally worth the money and the history behind the Chugach range and the other ranges were keeping me hooked while the sights made me gasp in awe.

Chris was the best guide/driver/owner of the Matanuska with lunch. As a native Alaskan born and raised he was a wealth of knowledge about everything Alaska which made the 2 hour drive go by quickly. Once at the glacier Jason was our trained glacier guide for our 2 hours out on the ice. Again a wealth of knowledge about glaciers and Alaska while keeping the group moving about 2.5 miles. The ice itself is spectacular and not to be missed if you're in Anchorage.

I joined a glacier walking tour and had a really great experience overall. Our guide clearly loved his job and was incredibly enthusiastic throughout the trip. Along the way, he shared many interesting stories about life in Alaska, which made the journey even more enjoyable. I originally expected lunch to be something simple like a sandwich, but we actually stopped at a restaurant near the glacier where we could try some local Alaskan food—I had a salmon taco, which was a nice surprise. On the way back, the guide was also very helpful in recommending restaurants in the downtown area, which I really appreciated. Once we arrived at the glacier, we were led by a professional glacier guide. Free crampons and snow pants were available to borrow if needed. At the beginning of the tour, we took a sled pulled by an ATV to get close to the glacier. There was some snow and wind, so it’s important to protect your eyes and ears. Our group had more than 10 people, so it was sometimes a bit hard to hear the guide’s explanations if you were walking toward the back. That said, the scenery was absolutely stunning and well worth it. The route itself was not too difficult—if you’re used to daily activities like climbing stairs, it should be manageable. Just make sure to follow the guide’s safety instructions carefully. Overall, it was a memorable experience and a great way to see the glacier up close.
