Thank you so much Sophia!
I enjoyed the museum and the exhibit, but we were drawn in by the Banksy name, and there weren't actually many Banksy pieces. Mostly "Banksy inspired."
Thanks for your comments. We have many Banksy artworks. I wonder if you missed a room?
Cool museum - no crowds - wanted to catch the KAWS exhibit but thot moved on. Nice banksy exhibit, good value for money.
Thanks for the positive comments 🙏🏻 🤩
We visited the MACA museum. In short, it is, in my opinion, far too expensive for what is. I think it's a thin cup of tea for 160 kr.
Det er synd, at du har det sådan. Vi er et lille museum, men med mindst tre kuraterede udstillinger med unikke kunstværker, der aldrig før har været udstillet, til en pris svarende til en pizza, siger de fleste, at vi giver god værdi for pengene.
Do not follow the link for location thru Viator, as it puts the museum in the middle of the canal! Museum was small but had a decent amount of Banksy art/history, but it seemed it was more focused on history of street art and street artists. Interesting exhibit, but I would have liked more on Banksy.
This museum is not for older people. There was no lift but a spiral staircase without a proper railings. If you have any problems in climbing stairs because your age. Don’t come here.
Dear “NCFOM”. We are housed in an historic building constructed in 1807 that is protected by Copenhagen commune, therefore we are not able to install a lift. Older people who are fit and able to walk up stairs manage just fine.
Good selection of quality art pieces . Free audio guide in multiple langages is great. Took me an hour to go around . Great way to end the day.
Thank you 🙏🏻 ❤️
As one of the few museums open on 31 December, we let ourselves be seduced by this museum located in Nyhavn district dedicated to street art because its access was among those possible with the copenhagen card (CPH). Otherwise the entrance costs 160 DKK. Possibility to rent a locker for 15 DKK. The museum is divided into several floors and several buildings. There are 3 themes, Banksy and Street art, the young years, the strange American, celebration of geniuses and faerdom, devoted to digital art. Several original works by Banksy and his peers can be seen. Female and male artists are exhibited here with different messages, different demands, etc. Upstairs, an exhibition dedicated to celebrating the strange with the theme of the Raven, Edgar Allan Poe, other artists like Marion Peck, Mark Ryden, etc. Finally, the part on the ground floor / basement is devoted to digital art, which is a bit confusing but just as interesting. An eclectic museum where the works presented are interesting and culturally significant but whose admission price remains relatively high for the time spent there. It is worth the cost if you have PHC. Manager at the friendly welcome and smiling nonetheless. Possibility to buy snacks and objects related to exhibitions.
It was awesome. The Banksy exhibit was a one of a kind experience. It was one of those experiences where you felt like you were part of the art experience.
Thank you!
Both myself, an art enthusiast, and my partner, who knows very little about art, we both absolutely loved this place! It not only has some of the most powerful pieces of Banksy, Warhol, Futuro, Retna and many more, but it guides you through the history of Street Art. Its carefully curated and fun approach is great for all ages. Be sure to check out the NEW basement exhibit which takes you into the future of film and digital art. Seriously this place was one of my favorite parts of my trip to Copenhagen! Bravo!!
