This is your guide to the Azores! Felipe took my sisters, dad, and I to Sete Cidades to see the lakes, calderas, and town. He was prompt, polite, and attentive to our needs. He was gentle and accommodating to my 85 year old dad and let him ramble on about all kinds of boring stuff. He knows everything there is to know about the Azores. We even asked him for sushi recommendations near our hotel and he knew 4 spots off the top of his head. Our 1/2 day tour with Azores by Locals was outstanding! Our guide Felipe, who is the owner of this local company, was very friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgeable about everything on the island. He was able to balance driving safely throughout the journey while answering our many questions. He made our children feel included in the journey starting conversation with them and asking about their interests. His English is excellent, and he provided a wide variety of information about the Azores including history, culture, geology, economy, agriculture, vegetation, and animals on the island. He was able to customize our tour to sites we had not already seen, and we were able to see some beautiful areas we would not have reached on our own. The next time we are on Sao Miguel island we will definitely be booking more tours with Felipe! We took his tour at the end of our trip, and if we had met him shortly after arrival, we would have booked more tours with him this week. I highly recommend this Felipe and his tour company!
