We spent over 3 wonderful hours on this tour. Our host Daniela gave us a lovely insight into her La Spezia and Italian cooking at home. We left fully content having experienced the making and eating of several dishes with wine. Gnocchi Daniela style will certainly be on our menu in the future.
We meet Paola at the market as provided. She was amazing with helping guide how to pick the freshest ingredients based on the seasons and personal preferences. The second part of the tour was a walking tour to see the city center and rich historical culture. The third part of the tour in her home was charming and delicious as she showed us how to make authentic Italian pasta (with the ingredients we bought at the market). The host was more than accommodating and welcoming!
I was disappointed with the event, as it was advertised as a hands-on cooking class where participants would prepare two traditional dishes and learn new culinary skills. However, the actual experience involved the hosts cooking the meal themselves while attendees watched, with no opportunity for us to participate. This felt misleading and did not match the expectations set by the promotion. I believe experiences should be accurately represented, and I would urge the company to reconsider how such events are marketed in the future.
Dear Lisa, First of all, thank you for your email. It is always important to listen to our customers. We are very sorry to read these lines since we always try to do our best in order to provide a great experience for our guests. I wish to emphasize again that this class only included one pasta recipe. The chosen recipe was an elaborated dish which involved the use of spaghetti (not a fresh pasta) and was to be mainly made by the host, something you all agreed upon. Focaccia was offered as an appetizer, together with wine. We are so sorry you did not find this class up to your righteosly high expectations, but we hope you still had a good time with your Cesarina and during your vacations in Italy. Amazing cooking class with a La Spezia local. Daniella's cooking knowledge was displayed throughout our time together and her personality made the day very special. We learned to make gnocchi, vegetable sauce and she prepared an amazing ragu. We had a wonderful meal, incredible dessert and terrific conversation with Daniella and her husband Giani. Thank you for an wonderful experience! We highly recommend!
Daniela was an excellent and welcoming hostess and great teacher. We had a terrific time creating gnocchi and then enjoying a lovely meal with local wines and dessert in her beautiful home with both her and her husband Gianni.
Very authentic and extremely informative. We learnt how to make ravioli in Daniela’s home and loved every second of it. The couple was welcoming and Daniela is an excellent cook - knows anything under the sun about fusion of ingredients. Would recommend it to anyone wanting to have a taste of the real Italy :)
