The hostess was amazing! She was so hospitable and kind. The whole experience was just so awesome! Learning from an experienced Italian cook was the best! Thank you Daniella
My family and I traveled to La Spezia on a Royal Caribbean cruise of the Mediterranean and decided to book a local excursion through Viator. This pasta making class was amazing!! We were given all the info for our host, Donata, and her address the night before. We took a short 15 minute taxi drive to Donata's house which was beautiful both inside and out. We were greeted warmly and immediately started the adventure of cooking: tiramisu, potato gnocchi and a delicious sgabei. Once complete, we sat outside on Donata's terrace enjoying our delicious creations. Included in the meal was Prosecco and coffee. We were offered Limoncello but we politely declined as all of us were stuffed full of delicious Italian food. We were able to tour Donata's property which includes amazing fruit trees, lots of home grown vegetables and herbs, and a chicken coop. The view of the ocean from the terrace was breath-taking. As our class was wrapping up, Donata's husband Claudio offered us a ride back to the port. Overall, this was the best excursion and experience. Donata was absolutely amazing as a host, teacher and chef. I would highly recommend this excursion and hope you experience Donata's warm hospitality and her delicious Italian recipes.
Best experience we have had so far on our 3-week Europe trip. A once in a lifetime experience, kindest people ever, best pasta I have ever had, and will never forget the tiramisu. If you can, DO THIS! So special and would recommend it to anyone. 10/10.
It was exactly what I was hoping it would be. Roberta, our host, was lovely, and her home very charming. The cooking was easy to follow and the food absolutely delicious! I’d give it more stars if I could.
Very disappointing. The food we learned to prepare was tasty and well-presented, but not as anticipated: One basic pasta cut differently is not 2 different pastas. One sauce was offered. There was a time management problem. We sat idly while waiting for course to begin. That was the first indication that we would not finish in time. We didn't. Our taxi service had to be delayed so we could eat what was made. Not a good situation at almost 10pm. There was a television on the entire time. Very distracting when we were eating inside the dining room. No written recipes were offered. And we saw aprons in imageds of other cooking classes, but none were provided. Our host was pleasant and answered our questions and explained her techniques but she seemed rushed and not quite organized. Again the food was flavorful and there was plenty to eat and drink, but the fun of cooking did not come through as we had anticipated.
Dear Debra, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I truly appreciate the thoughtful and respectful way you described your experience. I am very sorry to hear that the class did not fully meet your expectations, particularly regarding the timing, organization, and overall atmosphere. Your comments will be carefully reviewed with the host, as they are very important to us. At the same time, I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed the quality of the food and appreciated the host’s kindness and explanations. Thank you again for your honest feedback and for helping us improve our guests’ experiences.
Come to have an amazing time, this is the way to learn. Delicious wine, limoncello, food , dessert... Daniela and her husband welcome me in there house. Had an outstanding time
Daniella treated us like FAMILY… the Italian way. She provided wonderful gnocchi & tiramisu lessons, then treated us to a huge antipasto that she prepared in advance. The wine was complimentary and she made fresh focaccia bread. She did not rush us and chatted between courses… sharing stories, recipes, and traditions. We were teary-eyed at some points due to her loving hospitality. Thank you Daniella (and Giavanni) for an absolutely unforgettable experience in your lovely home.
My family and I spent a week in various parts of Italy, and Daniela’s cooking class was definitely one of our favorite activities. She has a great personality; we learned a lot; and she worked very hard serving us a sit-down meal following our cooking. We loved the privilege of being in her home, and it was a joy to to spend an evening with her!
SUCH a special experience, all thanks to Daniela. My family and I enjoyed every moment with her and her husband. Between the delicious food and our conversations with the two of them, I can’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon in la Spezia. Her hospitality and incredible cooking abilities wowed us all, and I highly suggest booking a class with her. Thank you so much again, Daniela!
